Rolling Meadows Cruise Nights - Fridays 5-8pm

Turnout was still pretty decent at MP tonight, even though the sky didn't look so great. I left the cars home, as usual, because I want to keep my 17 year record of not being caught in rain with a garage queen going.
Not a single 4th gen in site though. I got there late, around 8pm, so perhaps I missed some earlier arrivals.

I was actually there on Saturday with my mark viii. Not sure if you saw the line of Lincoln Marks at the end, but i met up with a few guys earlier on in the day and we decided to crash the show..got there early and still had a tough time finding spots. And yeah eventhough it was supposedly firebird night i didnt see a single one..although there were like 10 55-57 tbirds there. This is my 95 mark viii that i had there (which is for sale now).
I like the Mark VIII, especially in that color and with the Cobra wheels. Great that it's a '95 so no emissions. I don't recall seeing it on Saturday though.

We should be out at Rolling Meadows tomorrow. It's 60's night. Thinking about bringing the Impala, but I have not had the Camaro to this cruise yet this year so not sure yet. Great turnout at the Sycamore show Sunday. Hope to see some of you guys tomorrow.

Pretty weak turnout at Rosemont tonight, likely due to the downtown Park Ridge show that took all the local attention. Still had a good time with some of the regulars though and, thanks to Jimpala, picked up some official F-body signage made for a GM display at a Florida trade show in 1995:
Alex, I called you on my way to Rosemont. You must've been busy.

Mt. Prospect was a full house tonight, as usual, but the only 4th gen in attendance was a 30th Anniversary edition Z28. I was there from about 7-9pm.

I thought so too! My friend "Jimpala" works for a company that produces a lot of signage/displays/etc. for GM and GM events/promotions. From time to time he gets a hold of left-overs or items/design files that were stashed from past promotions and such. As his nickname suggests, he's into the full-sized Chevrolets so he mostly looks for B-body specific items that turn up, but he also sometimes gets items specific to other GM platforms. If he finds more of these, or something similar, I can let you know.

Is that place in Edgebrook, near Devon/Central? I think I've heard of a show there before, but I've never gone. I could walk there from where I live, the car wouldn't even hit operating temp.

met my dad over at Superdog in Wheeling for the once a month corvette show (he had his 62 there) so i figured Id take my car out since it was nice. Parked and went in to eat, come back out and see a pewter Formula parked next to me, and low and behold it's also an NHRA edition..that doesn't happen often.

There was a really nice Silver SS w/CME that rolled through Mt. Prospect tonight, right near the end of the show. That's the only 4th gen I saw, but I didn't know him. There may have been others down at the far end but I got stuck talking to a bunch of people and never made it all the way down to check.

went to the Pontiac show in St. Charles today, very nice turnout, saw some clean 4th gens also.
carl black blackbird TA, #9 of 19 I believe..had something like 1100 original miles.
1 of 9 firehawk G8 GXP..2nd one I've seen in person, the 1st was parked in a public parking garage in Arlington Heights about 5 years back.

Made it to Old Orchard tonight. Definitely another 400+ car night I'm sure, the crowd was huge. Saw a couple of 4th gens, but not anyone I knew personally. I'm not a regular at that event and as it's so big, it's hard to figure out who owns what car unless you already know them or they happen to be sitting there.
I'm hoping to make MP this Saturday, but I also want to swing by the downtown Skokie show that's part of their annual summer event this weekend. The car show portion is usually a pretty small turn out, maybe 40-50 cars, but I know a few locals who plan to be there. That will be happening both Saturday and Sunday during the afternoon.
