I have maybe $2000-2500 wrapped up into mine.

I bought a core out of a 91 van and had it gone through by a local guy that has done a lot of transmission work for others "racers" around here.

My biggest mistake was trying to use the transgo stage-3 full manual valve body conversion. Im currently in the process of taking that valve body out and putting a stock one back in it.

My cost break down looks something like this:
4l80 core: $300
TCI Soft Parts kit: $250 (just guessin on that... it was somewhere around there)
TCI Converter: $900-1000
Labor to have it rebuilt: $300
TCI SFI Flexplate: $250
BMR Crossmember: $180

Originally i had paid a couple hundred bucks for the trans go kit, but thats now going in the garbage. It is being replaced by a stock valve body with a 4l60-4l80 conversion harness.

People talk of nightmares of getting these things to fit, but i didn't have to beat on a single thing. Maybe it was because mine was a 91 and the cooler lines were very close... and maybe its because my first go-around didn't have a wiring harness sticking out the side. The only clearance issues i had was the headers hitting the side of the bellhousing... i just cranked them down and went on... but im going to grind them down a bit now that i have the trans back out. It just where the lower dust shield bolts on (im not running the shield anyway).

Are you pleased with finishline's work? I've heard nothing but good stuff come out of them. They are who I'm looking at for a transmission.

Cotton honestly save ur money and buy a mild built 4l80e from finishline and you'll never have to worry about another transmission again!

I just wish I had the extra $$ to get it done. I hate having a car I put so much in just sit there. Although I do get to drive it around at 30 and under haha.
