If you search on here there are tons of threads discussing this problem. You might actually have to take the head off to fix it. If so I'd put aftermarket ones on but that's just me. As far as babying it I say run it hard! Just up keep it maintenance wise and you'll be good to go!

Ey mike, I took my car to my friend's house today and his dad has a 67 camaro that he has fully built for a drag car. And he told me the same thing my grandpa told me and colton. I had him look at the problem and he's pretty sure it's the tuning that needs to be re-done. Since it runs real strong when it's cold, thats because the motor is running richer. When it gets hot (when it starts to miss and backfire) thats because its running lean. I think it all makes sense but what's your input?
