6800 is not the best.. My guess now is u had valve float and the piston hit a valve. Usually common in big cam cars that are over revved.

Wouldn't I have noticed something at the time that it actually hit? I have double .650 springs btw. Is there anywhere in the area that I could take it? I'm bout tired of it not running like iota should.

Well it could also be a spun bearing. The springs are good but I'm almost positive one side of the lift on a ms4 is .649, that's cuttin her pretty thin IMO.

I'm not sure what you would notice. If never had a motor issue/failure in any vehicle.

I do know they are tough enough to "run" and be damaged. Seen it myself.

If u need someone to look at it I got a guy that can. He's literally done all the work on my car. And he is quick to hook a fbody guy up in a heartbeat. PM me for his info. I'm almost certain he can at least diagnose the problem over the phone. And definitely fix it.

Yes you wouldve and it wouldve been over at that... You could be floating the springs tho if the valve lash isnt correct!
What year is your car?

If you would've said you were spinning it to 6800 in the first place the internet diag wouldn't have been as tricky...

Default Engine Cincinnati experience?

Hey guys, sorry to intrude on your thread, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with a company called Engine Cincinnati based out of Indianapolis. They mod ford 9" rears to work in 4th gens for a reasonable price. Seems to be a small garage outfit. They have adds on craigslist, so obviously I am weary. Thanks!

Hey guys, Its been a while. I just dont have the time to keep up with the internet anymore with my new job. But anywho, I found a possible new project. Ever since i sold my Camaro I have been looking for something to replace it. I found a 1997 camaro up north for $3300, but its wrecked. They claim that the frame, glass, suspension, bags, tires and cooling are all good. All it looks to need is just body work. I think it said new door, rocker, pass fender and both rear quarters need replaced. My dad is pretty talented with body work so everything would be fixed at home in the garage. The car is a V8 auto with 58k. I emailed the guy for more pictures today and hope to hear back soon. If everything looks good i would be heading up there next weekend if its still available. What do you guys think, is it worth it?

Sounds pricey for an lt1 car that needs alot of work. All the time, effort, money and you could just buy a nicer car thats never been wrecked
