Default Looking for a good shop to install a TC in SE MI

I have a TC, tranny cooler and shift kit I need installed in a week or so and I'm just trying to find a good place for a good price. How much do you think it'll run me to get all of this installed. I live in Shelby Twp and am looking for a place nearby with good fast service. Anyone had any past experience with this?

I just bought a torque converter and i'm looking for a good shop as well. I called a place in Carleton which is a little drive for you but they charge $50 an hour and told me it would cost me $400. That's just for the tc install and seems a little high for me. I'm going to check around a little more and maybe even try tackling it myself. Also, theres a place in Madison Heights called Wheel to Wheel. Never dealt with them before but it's worth checking into. Here is there website: http://www.w2wpowertrain.com/ Good luck with that.

Thanks. I think I recall doing a search before I got my TC and I know kpowr82 got his TC and tranny cooler installed for somewhere around $200. I'm going to PM him about it now. I know a guy that is a great family mechanic and when I find the lowest price around I'll see if he can do it cheaper or not. I'll keep you posted as well.

I called Wheel to Wheel and talked to Jory. He gave me a price of $325 for the T/C install. I put my trans cooler on myself the other day. It took me about an hour and i'm not very mechanically inclined. I found this website that helped a little on the install: bowlingss.com Just trying to save you a few $$$. Let me know where you end up going because I'm heading out of town for the next week and won't be able to get mine installed until I get back.

I have heard good things about Livernois Motorsports in Dearborn Heights. May want to check them out. When i get my TC and shift kit, im planning on going down to Speed Inc in Chicago area to get it done along with a few other things and dyno tune. Prolly bout 4 hour drive but i heard they were the best.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I'll be sure to update you all on when and where I'm getting the install done.

DetroitMuscle: Hey man, sup? If you want to do it yourself one weekend (with help) PM me, I have access to a lift, trans jack and air tools, etc.
