Got the cam in this weekend!!!
Oh man does that job suck....$1000 labor is what most shops charge and I'll tell you what..it is worth every penny of that.
Anyway, Thanks Matt, Chris, and Mike...
Mike I got the valve springs done about 1/2 hour I got off the phone with you....
Well, I had to raise the idle screw up 4 full turns(all the way up) so when it is in Park or Neutral it is idling at 2grand...but when it is in gear and I am sitting at a stoplight it idles about 950....I know I need to get this thing tuned I just don't have the money right away. If anyone has HP Tuners that can help me out for the time being so I can get this thing to idle better I would really appreciate it.
So for everyone who has asked the question.."Can I do a big cam with a stock converter?" The answer is yes you can....
Holy **** does this thing make power and it sounds like a beast.....it gets really squirrely at a 30 mph roll when you punch it.
Anyway, Thanks Matt, Chris, and Mike...

Damn what the hell were they going to do for a grand? Hope that includes parts. As for the idle you said you turned it four turns in,that seems like a lot. When i did chis cam i turned it maybe one turn but i reset the tps so it doesn't dump fuel.Did you reset your tps after you raised your idle? That might help you get your idle lower in park.

damn a 1,000 for the install, that is outragous. I paid a shop to do mine, because I didn't have the time and was inpatient. And the shop that did mine even took my heads of, when they did the install and I paid $625.00

TPS? I do not know what that is but I wish someone could help me out because I am running pig rich. I get spurts of raw fuel out the tail pipes...

yup! big cams need little air and fuel at idle, that's why people always say to cut 80% off from first 3 columns of the VE table. with too much fuel, the pcm freaks out and changes timing through over- and underspeed, causing surging and hunting. once you adjust your IAC count, get your TPS voltage inline, reset TPS, figure out adjusted values for RAF, get timing down to ~20 at idle, and then of course adjust the idle regions of the VE table, it will idle just fine. you're lucky i got a hpt cable for '01 cars

I can't wait to hear that thing man! You should get with that Supra guy. It sounds like he knows is shizzle. See if you can find a bin file in the repository for a similar cam and mods to get you by.
