Indiana Street legal at IRP
I raced the SS for the first time since I have gotten it at IRP in indianapolis. My car is bone stock the only weight reduction was I had to take the mats out in case they some how rolled under the pedals . So with that said it was my first time dealing with the tree and I'm a noob I overshot the staging area and had to back up. wow was the crowd booing. the first run I did i ran a 14.532@100.15, 2nd run14.048@103.45, 3rd run 13.919@104.40, and 4th run was13.963@103.5(A honda blew up on the track and leaked coolant everywhere spun tires in third.)
It overall I think was pretty impressive for stock. my Reaction times sucked.671 was the first run and it went up to .848 on 2nd, 3rd was .752 and 4th was.724

Practice makes perfect. My very first pass down a dragstrip was at IRP back in the fall of 2001, and it was in the 14's too. I've got a personal best at IRP of 13.22 @ 107+ as of this year.
Did they ask you to take the floor mats out? Usually the tech line there isn't that technical.

I like to run out there but it does get real packed somtimes. You should have seen opening night this year. There were about 250 cars there. My first time with my car netted 13.20's and 13.30's with a few bolt ons it came with and street tires.
It is fun though.

i liked IRP when i went, there were quite a few cars but i still made 14, yes 14 passes in one night... consistant 2.0 60's (street tires are better than DRs at IRP as you know) and several 13.4s @103 on a completely bone stock 2000 LS1 A4...next time i go im going to drop my jack and spare and do some other weight loss, drop my t stat and drop my air pressure.. see how much of a freak she really is...

the less air pressure you have in your tires, the better they hook up nomral; operating psi lets say is 35, if you drop it down to 25 the tires will hook better. porblem with that sometimes is that at the end of the track the car will sometimes get squirley

i was just trying to start some ****. but seriously, as i've said before...i highly doubt that you'll cut much better than a 2.0x 60' with stock everything. you can't flash the converter any more than you did OR torque it up any more than you did. i'd take a 2.0 and be happy (i did ) after you do some uh...slight modifying, you might look into DRs then. as we all know, less weight = less traction.
