Default What is needed for a TH 400 conversion??

okay, so all I have is a built TH400 and a converter...
What else do I need a do you have any recommendations where to get them at a descent price....this came up at a time where I don't have a ton of money but I should have enough to get the parts as long as we can get good prices for the parts...

flexplate
crossmember
driveshaft(I heard a rumor tha a M6 drive shaft would be the correct length, is this true)
forgot to add shifter...

computer mods??

The driveshaft I think is still different, + you need a T-400 yoke. Your gonna need a dipstick tube & a shifter & cable.
There are some write ups in the trans sections (both of them) here. Also gonna need to pieces to convert the vehicle speed sensor also.

I am going M6 to th350 now. Here is my parts list.

Trans Cooler
Dip Stick Tube - Lokar 36" firewall mount
TCI SFI Flexplate
Flexplate bolts
TC bolts
Converter
Trans - RMVB and brake
Cheetah shifter
Custom fabbed mounting brackets
BMR cross member
New drive shaft

I think that's it for now.

I read in the trans section that as long as you use a fwd shift pattern you can use the stock shifter.

It was not stated very clear about the drive shaft though....I also read about some wiring stuff..

It almost sounds like a HUGE poject to go A4 to A3

I don't even think you have to worry about the wiring.Your using the stock shifter so the netural safty will work. The main trans harness will just stay dissconected. The speedo you will have to look into, mines a turbo 350 so it will be a diffrent setup. You have to delete some trans codes so your car doesn't go into limp dick mode. And depending on your convertor, is it made for a ls1 or a SB/BB if so you need a adapator so you can bolt up the vertor to the motor.

The speedo I have no idea whatto do with that yet.

Its a TCI Breakaway....When i called TCI they said it was the optimal converter with my set up for street use with occassional track use. However it was originally made for a BB chevy so I am a litle confused on what I need for it to bolt up to the motor.

Need help on what crossmember to get(not too expensive)

I have the BMR T400 cross member:

So you have a non-LS1 application converter?

then you will need the 6.0 liter hub spacer to use that converter, along with the longer flexplate bolts as well.

You sir, are in luck. I happen to have both of those items sitting on my workbench brand new, never used. I bought them thinking I had a non ls1 converter when I did my setup a month ago and turns out it WAS an ls1 converter, so never needed them, I'd cut ya a nice deal on them since you are local.

PM me if you are interested, ####'s just sitting there doing nothing.

Does anyone have an extra M6 crossmember so I can use this http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1508

Also with using this where does the torque arm connect to now since there is no bracket on the 400?

Thanks guys.

I am debating on the conversion now. I might just have the 60 rebuilt and buy a good converter. Losing overdrive is a big factor
