My grandpa worked for the county for like 7 years and im friends with the head of the state patrol in my area. That helps a lot too when you are trying to talk your way out of things. i have warnings for everything for the most part. except drag racing...

WOW - I don't remember paying that much for a car insurance.

I'm 28 now, married, and I drive:

1995 Camaro V6
2001 Camaro SS

For BOTH I pay $440/6mo - insured both ways
That's through progressive.

One undisputable advantage of being married. Insurance drops at least 30%

Im 18 and have state farm ( liability and comprehensive only, no collision) on my formula, perfect driving record no tickets no accidents paying about 100 bucks a month , I dont think it was a whole lot cheaper when I was 16 or 17 driving an oldsmobile

you guys impress me with good perfect records from 16-18, that time of my life I just couldn't stay away from tickets. Here is my record from just one county, and I have a handful in the county that I currently live in. I started driving at 16 in 1996

2002TR6236 YATES, RANDY CHRISTIAN April 21, 1980 DefendantOrRespondent

Those include about 5 squealing tires, a few speeding, 5 no front plates, 5 no insurance, about 3 expired registration and a couple rolling lights/ signs and no signal

A lot of that has to do with your location. You live pretty far from Chicago which helps to reduce the rates quite a bit.

We are about the same age, and I too am married. I have an excellent record (last ticket was nothing serious and was in '98, knocking on wood), and I pay the following:

'98 Z28: $430/ 6 month
'96 Bonneville: $340/ 6 month

This is full coverage for both with State Farm. I live just a couple blocks from Chicago though. People that I know living near you in Lake county with similar cars & driving records are paying quite a bit less than I am, even with State Farm.

Eventually I expect to be moving out your way......maybe Lindenhurst/Gurnee/Grayslake area.

yea, location makes a huge difference. I used to live in chicago (O'Hare area) and I paid a lot more for insurance.

Go with Gurnee.....or Vernon Hills if you can - at least there's some kind of civilization there
Grayslake and Lindenhurst are ghost towns...so is Round Lake and all the other "lakes"

My next house will be in Buffalo Grove area....
