winter mods
Right now I am just saving up to pay off the rest of my car loan, but by the time it comes out of storage it is going to be a whole new beast. I know 2000zrocks knows a few things that I am doing but some of it I am going to try to keep on the D.L. I hope I have what it takes to make it to lane 1 at next years RSD's.

I am also planning on shedding a few pounds. I figured that I will be taking out about 100lbs. What the hell are you taking off to loose 300lbs, damn! Let me know if you need any help.

Weight
I plan on doing some of the same weight reductions except for the fiberglass hood. I will let you know when I am going to start pulling my car apart, if you want to stop by and lend a hand or some advice. Get a hold of me when you get that aluminum switch plate finished, I might be interested in buying one if you would be willing to fab up another. Oh yeah and where can we get our cars weighed around here?

Whats up guys? I live in Moline,Ill I was wondering about some information about the rsd's. What is the the average faster street cars running?
Do they have classes for street tires, slicks, or any other way they break it down? I would like to come up and race. My local track is Cordova or Byron. At Cordova they have a cheesy midnight - 4am street races. You cant run slicks and you have to have exhaust. Also there is really no track prep. Any info would be good.
Thanks, Ben

i dont go the the ones at gld but i would imagine there are some pretty fast street cars cuz all the guys from chitown go to those. the ones in kakauna arent as good but we have some very fast cars as well. there are some cars in the eights but most stuff is from 11s to 14s.
there are no classes at all its run what ya brung. you can race anybody you want. they have a racing lane where you line up with someone you want to race. you can race from the tree, protree, sportsman or spot people and have some flag you. they run time runs, although they prefer you race. they usually reserve lane one for "the big dogs". these are the guys that put on a show ie: wheelies, 8 second cars and things of the like.
there are alot of people at the event and the best way to get runs is to line up in the racing lane as they favor that lane. hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Where is the track you run at? I will try to map quest it. Im just sick of taking my car s to the track and everyone knowing who I am and everything about me. That puts a damper on racing locally. It would nice to visit different tracks for meeting new people and test and tuning.
Thanks, Ben

Working on heads and cam before thaw and more gear and stall soon to follow after but want to get new times with just the heads and cam first.
Can some one let me in on where to weigh for free? I have a pretty good idea on the Caprice but would like to know exactly what the wagon actually weighs.
Chris the guy with the green LT1ed third gen from the Hooters meeting stopped last night to get some parts for his winter mods. Let's just say they are signifigant powerwise and I talked him into a real stall.

Only subframe connectors and a shock tower brace here, I need to get out of school, and pay off the rest of my car before anything big will be done, so nothing else for this winter for sure.
