Default Where to find sport bikes cheap in Chicago area?

I am thinking of picking up a bike. Something used and older that is reliable. Minimum 600cc and price between 2000-3000. There has to be a place to search. I have passed up dealerships in the past with tons sitting outside. Any make and model suggestions? Any place to look? Anything to stay away from?

Thanks

cycletrader.com

Check out older CBR's. They are reliable, fun and inexpensive. My first crotch rocket was a 92 CBR 600F2 that I picked up for $2500. It was fun to ride, and I got my money out of it when I was ready to sell.

I tryed cycle trader but the search sucks. I went to Chicago cycle and they want too much or don't have bikes in my range. Ebay is OK but most bikes are bid only and I do not know enough to determine a fair bid or what bikes would end up in my range. I guess I just have some research to do if I am going to seriously persue this.

Sure thing Jav (I see it on here a lot, hope you don't mind). If I get one I will be out and about.

chicago cycle is a rip off! and they are jags! i went there to buy a r6 when they had 3.9 financing. picked out my brand new bike! then we went into the financing office. they wanted a huge monthly payment which would have brought the bike after financing to $14k. and i had my mother co sign with her perfect credit and mine wasnt perfect but better then average. the financing guy was getting pissed off at us for not agreeing to his offers. he refused to give us a calculator to count it all up. so got up and walked out. while walking out he gets up and yells good luck finding a better deal. on my next day off went to another dealer in indiana and bought a brand new 03 r1 for 3.9 financing. bike came out to about $11,500 financed!

i would go to xtreme in hammond indiana. great guys! ask for dan! thats where i got mine!

screw chicago cycle!

end rant

After looking arround the mid 90's CBR 600's are very resonable and seem pretty quick. I like the styling too. Found a few on cycle trader for arround 3k. I will most likely buy over winter to save money and get a good deal. I have spent too much on the car this past year to even think about buying anything now.

chrs1313, if that thing is still arround over winter I will check it out.
