Emissions Indiana What are the rules of emissions with exhaust in Indiana? You need cats correct? But do you need EGR and AIR? to pass? cant you get them deleted out in a tune so theres no codes thrown?

It's federal law for all 50 states to have the cats, egr, and AIR on your car if it came from the factory that way. Here in Central Indiana there isn't emissions testing, so you can follow the "what they don't know won't hurt them" policy.

So if i get the code out.... noone looks under my hood at the emissions place? Noone will no that the EGR and AIR is gone correct? and what if i were to leave the heat shields up for the cat do you think theyd notice that theres no cat there?

Around the chicago land we are required to have emmisions testing done ti get your plates. It is very simple to pass as long as you have a diagnostic port under you dash, they wont check anything but the gas cap and just check the comp. to see if there are thrown codes. If you are throwwing codes (i.e. ses light) have them fixed and deleted. I passed no cats long tubes and all just had 02 sims on, so no codes were thrown.
