Chicagos FASTEST LS1.
I have a 1 yr old son, run a $2 million dollar consulting firm, co-own this site, and when I have time I wrench on my car. Guess how much wrenching that is. Fact of the matter is that I'd rather make what I make money wise, and pay someone competent to work on my car... so back on topic.
Who gives a fugg who built the car, all that matters is what it runs.
Can I copy and paste this post into my shop car versus home built thread? I see you voted but did not reply as was requested. Your staement of "Who gives a fugg who built the car, all that matters is what it runs" does not seem to be the "majority" over there.
My apology's LASTLS1, back on topic please
Andy I have two, the extra one is the one I am taking off. I got it from Big Rick on LS1Tech several years ago but I bought another one from Zach that looks beefier.
After seeing Mike Brown going 8.5's on 325 DR's it makes me want to come out on those.
My apology's LASTLS1, back on topic please
The "majority" of members here can't afford to have **** done at a shop, and after talking with shop owners, when they have work done at a shop they try to get the price as low as possible.
The "majority" of members here wrench on their own cars out of neccessity. I promise you that more than half of them would love to have their car built by one of our better sponsors. They just can't, so some of them badmouth the more fortunate members who can. In reality, the car itself is all that matters, not who built it. People get hung up on that as if it were an excuse to be slower. I get so tired of hearing "Yeah well if I had all kinds of money I'd have blah blah blah....". I didn't make you work at Jiffy Lube after dropping out of HS, you did it.
Its a common sense thing, take guys like PSJ or myself. Lets say it takes 200 man hours to build the car (I'm just throwing numbers out). Lets say those 200 man hours cost $10,000 at a shop. Now lets say in those 200 hours I can make $20,000. Would I be wiser to spend half that on their labor, or do it myself and not have any gaurantee or recourse if I **** it up? One way I save $10,000 but lose $20,000, the other way I pocket $10,000 and have my **** done right. Pretty ******* simple IMO.
we CHOOSE to work on our own ****, every single one of us, for all the reasons we have mentioned already.
