A new Addition!!!! Well my 1 1/2 yr old Alaskan Malamute was getting bored and lonely when me and the wife were out at work. So tonight I just picked up a 6wk old (Big Boned) German Sheperd. Just felt like posting some pics!

I am looking at my 2 year old GERMAN SHEPARD sleeping on the floor next to me as we speak and Shepards and Malamutes have always been my favorite. Awesome Dog and PUP and good luck with those DOGS which are simply man's best friend.

I would like to get a second dog. I feel bad leaving her home alone all day. But I want a big dog and that won't work since ours is only 8lbs. Family friend gave her to us.

I would not say that. My parents have a New Foundland and a yorkie poo, The newfe will let the yorkie take bones of her mouth. And my malamute grew up around the yorkie when my parents watched the dog for 3 months (damn apartment). And she plays with the yorkie without any problems. Hell she would even pick the yorkie up by the scruff of her neck and carry it around.

I guess if the bigger one does not play too ruff. My little thing does not mind big dogs till they get too ruff. My parents lab is pretty mean to smaller dogs. I could do some research and find breads that are good for this. I like your malamute. How is the shedding?

The nice thing about malamutes are that they only shed 2 times a year, spring and fall. That is about it. Granted she does leave some hair around here and there. But nothing bad. Unlike husky's they shed year round.
Some big dogs that are good with little dogs are, New Foundlands, Sheperds,Bernese Mountain Dog, bullmastiff, great dane, st. bernard,Great Pyrenees, Rottweiler

You guys have good taste in dogs. I used to have a Malamute/ shepard mix, that was a great dog. I now have a flat coat retriever, similar to a black lab but with long hair- smartest dog I have ever had, and a real people pleaser.
