Post up if you went to Byron 11.12.06
Had a good time at the track yesterday.
Got up at 5:30AM and went to get the car. Thanks to Larry @ Speed for helping me with that.
Felt kind of cold out but the sun was out.
Turned out that the track hooked like mad. I'm a big fan of Byron again that's for sure.
I went:
11.02@122
10.5@129
9.86@141
9.82@139
All on 1.54-1.58 60 fts. I have to change some things in my tune but I have a good base to start from. It was very cool to just jump in, bump the key and go make a hit.
Big thanks for Mike Kennedy, Larry Hamilton, and of course Dan & Jim for the fabwork and the great tune.
I could tell based on how the car felt on the last two passes that the turbo rookie (me) was the impediment to the car running a 9.2-9.3 pass... Most likely built like zero boost off the line. I tagged the limiter on the 1-2 a few times too.
My goal for 2007 is 8.99 and drive the car on DOT's to Strats a few times a month.

I was there. Track was hooking. We spent the day trying to keep the nose down on launch. I was dead hooking and pulling the nose 2-3' with a very tight shock setup and 23LBS in the slicks.

I was up there too and had a decent day i guess. Ran into computer problems and wasnt able to make any changes with HP Tuners so i ran on the stock tune all day. First 4 runs went...
12.18@111
12.18@111
12.16@111
12.12@111
I knew that the car was running extremely lean and with the cam and stock tune i wasnt expecting it to run good until i bumped up the fuel and timing tables. Well i decided to bump the fuel pressure from 58 to 60 and ran
11.91@113
Then i decided to make one last pass at 62 psi and ran
11.71@115
I was only cutting 1.7-1.8 60fts all day with my th400 5500 stall off the brake, so i know the motor needs more fuel and especially timing down low. It was just extremely lazy. I guess with some good tuning, ls6 intake, better 60fts high 10's are attainable with the stock heads.

I was in the 1.42 or lower range all day. I was bracket racer consistant at 10.6x all day as well. No new bes because of the head wind. (That sucked) Also I need to figure out how to keep the front end down. That hurt the 60' alot. Wheelies are cool looking but don't help ET.
Guess I have all winter to figure it out.
It was good meeting you yesterday.

yeah that track was in very nice shape for the last day of opperation this year
The tower lane had a bit more bite since our car went 10.98 with a 1.534, 10.98 with a 1.535, and 10.96 with a 1.534 60'
The Byron hill lane was back to back 11.05s
Its always nice to find out that the newest toy is deadly consistent
and PSJ - that car looks like a lot of fun when you get the bugs out

Hey John....Good meeting you and I'm still shocked at the results of our run together. that was my best run of the day and a new best for me. Here a link to a vid of our run that Larry (GNXS on ls1gto.com) took...
There might be more video with a better view of your car but I'm still waiting for it and I'll post it up here when I do...It was a great day!!! I got 25 runs in.....Your car is pretty amazing. I had no idea what I was up against...
Mark and John - Byron 11-12-2006
Until next season....
Peace,
Mark

John,
Here's the only vids I've seen so far that had your car in it at some point. Since most us with camcorders were from Chicago SVT, that's mostly what's in the vids. However, there is some GM footage in there, including one or two of your car.
