www.abtelectronics.com
They are in Glenview. I get all my electronics and appliances from there. Plus if you go into the store rather than on-line you can bargin on the prices.

I JUST bought a Canon Powershot 540...Its great! 6 megapix's
I went to www.cnet.com and shopped around, they will located the cheapest price online. However when I went to staples, they are having a deal where if you buy a Canon camera, you get a free $100 printer. And the camera itself was only $20 cheaper than the best deal online. So well worth it I think
good luck

Im not sure what it is Im looking for when I get into taking still shots of cars and what not. Is that shutter speed? Does this have an option to be adjusted?

Check on slickdeals.net. Go into the forums and search for digital cameras and see what comes up. I found a deal on there earlier this year for a Kodak 5mp and a Epson photo printer, ended up being $100 after rebates and shipping, and then I sold the printer for $70 on ebay.

If you use google checkout you get an extra $20 off. Not a screaming deal, but if you wait around they usually have a really good camera deal evaery couple of weeks. I just bouth my wife a 4mp Fuji with a bag and the HP mini printer for $49 after rebates.

The advice I got was Canon is the best camera, best ratings and everything. www.cnet.com is a great place to look for reviews of different cameras.
As far as I know, shutter speed doesn't matter with a digital camera with still shots. That would come into play if you wanted to take lots of fast pictures. I'm pretty happy with mine, I'm still playing with the settings.

Canon S3 IS - my first choice for P&S camera bang for the buck - can be had around $350
Second choice P&S, pics should be as good or better than canon but it's slower to zoom in - around $280
The screw it I want the superior performance of a DSLR at a low $$$ choice but I don't want to invest in more lenses down the road - I've seen it as low as $495 on sale, $565 at Circuit city right now
A slightly more expensive DSLR that would be a good start if you wanted to invest in lenses down the road - $627 at circuit city right now
