5.70 in the 1/8 is prolly around a 9.0-9.20 or so, i went 6.1 in the 1/8 when i ran 9.70. I should be able to run the 6.4 on motor this year.

I regret to say there is a possibility I may not make it with the TA. Small chance I may, but I may be putting a motor in it....long story. I am looking at a couple other Fbods for a DD while the TA is down so I will still be there, probally in something that is more stockish though

Unfortunately I had a loss of oil pressure when I started my car, either the pump was bad from the factory (Melling) or it grabbed a bearing.
The engine looked like crap while I had it apart ( a couple people from this board I am sure can testify to that), probably because the hack that had the car before me never changed the oil, or used the cheapest **** he could put in there. I was a little weary when going to put it back together because of the **** poor conditions I saw when I got covers off.
I am going to try another pump tonight. My only problem with running the car is that I had it running and it had good pressure , but after going to the front of the car looking for leaks and make sure all wiring was clear and nothing was rubbing and add coolant as needed, I came back to check temp to see the check gauges light on and that the oil pressure needle was buried at 0.
If it is the pump, I am still worried because I dont know at what point the car dropped pressure, weather it was right when I got out, or just before I looked at the gauges. So it could have been the 2-5 minutes I was inspecting under the hood, or maybe only a second before I looked.
If I put another pump on it and it was indeed the pump I will be at the rental with that car, no spray......hoping like hell it holds together and nothing was hurt too bad with a loss of oil pressure. I really doubt that is the problem, just because that is my luck.
If the motor comes out of the car, it is not going back to stock, I will not do that much work, pulling it out, to put a stock motor back in the car.
The trans problem comes into play if I am indeed putting a new engine in, I will not put the 116k mile 4L60 behind a built motor that I would be spraying the hell out of.
So hopefully I can get the pump switched out tonight and have good news!!

Thanks Nate. Got the new pump on tonight, balancer back on, time for sleepy...should have the car back together in about an hour or 2 when I get off work tomorrow night and hopefully I have oil pressure. If not... forged 346 and lots o spray here I come.

Well looks like I am building a motor, the car has oil pressure but it is only around 5 - 20 psi, bounces around. I should have it out by end of the week. Small chance I can turn it around in time. I may just wing it and use the stock trans while waiting for the 400 to be built. My pistons will be in on the 21st, rods are already in stock. If everything can go right, realisticly I can have this all together in time for the rental!
