Default WTB: 98-02 Camaro SS

I'm looking to buy a stock or basically stock 98-02 Camaro SS with around 80,000 miles or less on the body and motor. I have around $10,000 to spend and I wanted to find a good deal on a local car near St. Charles, MO. I am willing to travel almost anywhere in Missouri or Illinois. Any body have anything for me?

O and btw, Do you guys think a 98 Camaro SS with 81,xxx miles that needs new front brakes and front tires would be worth $8,000? Just need opinions on that one...thanks guys.

If the body is straight and clean along with everything else checking out ok then I would say yes.

Well here's the deal....besides those things above theres small things like...new paint job b/c of scratches, new gas pedal, slightly warn leather on drivers seat, drivers side window is loose (must be off the track or something), Possibly new shocks, and a tune up would do wonders for the car...He wants $9,900 for the car as is but I'm thinkin I can talk him down...Knowing all that what would you say I should offer him?

Have any pics?

Sounds like it has had a hard life if it needed paint from scratches at that mileage, shocks with 80k miles seems odd.

New gas pedal?? thats really odd.

My car has 119k miles and as far as I can tell the shocks are all original and doing great.

Here's his car domain page, there is pics on here:

As for the shocks, it probably doesnt need new ones..I think I'm just not used to a little bit rougher ride of an f-body...I have a 05 cobalt now so its a lil bit different .

And the gas pedal somehow broke off, don't even ask me how he did it cuz honestly I have no idea how thats even possible but I figured easy fix with aftermarket pedals and welding. Only thing I'm worried about with the gas pedal is that maybe he was flooring it just a lil too much...

And its a 99 that was my bad...

O and as for getting the Z with low milage...I would except I'm not exactly finding anything like that around here for the same price or lower so the SS was looking pretty nice...

Judging by the pics I think he'll tell you to get bent if you offer him 8k. I think $9400 would be more inline.

9 G's doesn't seem unreasonable for the car.

Alright thanks guys, I might give him that offer but theres also a silver SS I found with only 49,xxx mi on it for $12,300. I'm thinking that's probably the better deal at this point seeing as how it has been garage kept and its a 2000 model.

Id offer 9k at the very least on the black car, maybe closer to 9,500.

But for 3k more I would get the 2000 SS

Saw a Silver 98 SS with 36,000 for 11,900. It was in our tri-state photo trader. I can get you the location and number if you wish. It was lowered with chrome ZR1's and they said it was mint. Picture looked like it. Let me know.
