I'm thinking about going out for my 1st time of the season to make some passes before the weather starts getting too hot. Anyone else going out there 2morrow??

There's a reason why records are set there every year. The track prep is great, especially on the slick only nights on Wednesdays.

I would make sure your pinion angle, shocks, tire pressure, etc are set to where they should be. That will limit the amount of passes and time it takes between runs. The staging lanes get quite packed fairly early.

Wheel studs need to be long enuff to protrude thru the wheel itself.Should be fine with the stock length, unless youre running spacers.

If you have a 10 bolt, I would suggest slipping it off of the line. A 10 bolt can't handle many hard launches, ask me how I know. You just may have to let it cool for a little while between runs. But with Route 66 that usually isn't a problem

2 10 bolts later and I now have a moser 9", much gooder.

With slipping the clutch you'll just end up heating it up a bit. If you hot lap it, you may have issues with it slipping.

Hmmmm, I went 10.85 @ 126 with a stock 10 bolt, consistently. But I had a big stalled auto. Never had to worry about slipping the clutch or launching too high. Just stall up to 3500, and flash the rest of the way.
