Default 1/4mile tracks in Chicago area?

Going out to chicago NW burbs(palatine) to visit family, are there any good 1/4mile tracks around this area except in Joliet? Going to be there in mid August any good events around that time? Thanks.

Yup GLD will be your only bet then. It's hard to hook on it but I like it because you can hot lap all day long as it's never really that busy. That and it's like 15 mins from my house.

They can be real asses but TRUST me, they are ***** cats compared to the Racine co. Sheriffs...which us from Milw have to go through to get to the track.

GLD and Byron are pretty much the same distance from palatine. 41 is a real cruise.
