Default SS Hood

Anyone want a Silver SS hood off of a 2002? Just thinking of selling it and doing a cowl...

What would it be worth? I would rather wait for someone who wants one for a silver car...

I have a silver '98 Z, and I've been considering doing an SS hood for a while now.

Is your hood an OEM SS hood? With the GM scoop grille?

And what condition is the hood & paint in?

Let me know. Thanks.

I should've mentioned that. Yes its an OEM, paint is perfect. Has 2 very small rock chips, no scratches. Nice thing, its silver, rock chips are almost invisable

The ONLY reason I would want to get rid of it is to put a cowl on it. I'm going to bracket race it next season so I want to get rid of the latch assembly and dont really want to drill holes into the OEM SS hood if I dont have to

Sounds nice.

When you say "two very small rock chips", just how small are we talking? Like the size of a pin tip or so? And what about any swirl marks? Also, has the car been an all weather driver and sat in the sun a lot? Or have a lot of miles?

Reason I ask all these questions is that I use my Camaro for judged car shows. I usually score either a 19/20 or a 20/20 on paint, so I need it to be pretty much perfect and a good match to the paint on my car (meaning little to no sun fade, swirls, etc.) otherwise I'd need to repaint it.

And how much would you want?

Thanks.

Its a 2002 with 50k miles. I'd say pen tip is a very close size. No swirls, no fade that I can tell. It matches the car rather well. It hasnt seen any rain at all since i've had it. Before then its hard to tell. I'm not sure what it would be worth. That was why I was seeing if its worth selling, or just putting pins in it and keeping it

I guess I'd need to see it in person to really judge condition.

As for price, I know what it would cost me to buy a new OEM hood and get it painted (I get OEM parts at cost, but a GM SS hood + paint still costs a considerable amount). The fact that you are local and the hood is already painted factory silver are both big pluses for me. I don't expect to take it away from you for super cheap or anything, but it's hard for me to make an offer without seeing the condition of the paint first hand. If I don't need to repaint it, I'd be willing to pay a good bit more.

Do you have a ballpark figure of what you'd want? We can take it to PMs if you wish.

I would totally buy it if my $$ situation was better. Just bought a truck so nothing left at this time.
