I want to make sure I understand what you're saying. You feel you can't make a 4th gen fast cause they are too heavy, and that no one has yet proved to you that it can be done?

I give you Worm Boy..........

Or the W2W Formula or whatever that runs high 8's all motor, or Roofer Daves car........... Slowest of those runs 8's and they are all LS based motors.

When it comes to true street cars there are more 10-9 sec LS F cars then you can shake a stick at.

When it comes to the swaped RX-7's most of the ones I have seen if not all are 6 speed cars (not exactly the best tranny for drag racing compared to a stalled trans braked auto), miss a shift and your done.

Built one with a auto on the brake hooking and making big power and then that will be impressive.

The only one that I have known to be around for a while thats local has blown up more then a few times.

Nothing against those cars at all, just have not been really proven to be fast yet and I don't consider 10's fast but thats just me.

If I wanted a fast roll racing car then a swaped RX-7 would be a great idea.

Again just my opinions.

no, that is not what i'm trying to convey. i can count on my hand how many ls powered cars i've seen in/around indianapolis that can show me a sub 11.0 second timeslip. i guess i shoud've started my last statement with this lead: AROUND HERE. there are plenty of "fast" 4th gen f cars out there, very few of them reside here. what's sad is that there should be plenty of 10 second cars in indianapolis, but for whatever reason, they don't run what they should. now you take the same motor in a sub 3,000lb car and now we've got 10 sec slips and 130+ traps all over the place. i hope to see your car do something at the track. you have a 9 second setup, but once again we'll see in due time what it really runs.

Yes something like in a sub 3,000 pound car would be fast, just have to make sure it hooks.

Would like to see Benny's car run also.

Come to think of it we do have an over abondance of 11 sec cars here.

All the fast ones are BBC's, SBC's, BBF's and SBF's , LS1's need to get in the garage and start moding. Heard that one silver ish blown SBF notch stang went 8.80s and also took second place in the car show at the big stang meet down in KY.

P.S., I think if more LS guys started going to ORP on prep nights you would see faster times but so many of them around here still have 10 bolts and are affraid of breaking thim with good reason. People also need lots of seat time and consistant track prep, it took me like 8 runs to drop a tenth in my last car. If it was not a invite only event I never would have got that many runs in on a street night.

Yeah me neither....
Thats why I keep a spare 10 bolt at all times.
Thanks to a VERY special set of MT's that a certain someone gave me my 10 bolt got screwed up also. Oh Well' gives me a reason to slap in a 12 bolt after the motor is installed. Can't Wait till the end of summer when I actually decide to put it in. Don't wanna rip out my rearend or grenade the trans. till I am ready to put it up for the winter. I just hope the rearend lasts a whole summer; but if not looks like I'll be going back to 2.73's until I can save up the $ for a 3.73, 33 spline, 12 bolt rear.

I had to jack up my rear tonight and it started shaking, thought that was odd. Come to find out its missing the lower nut and washer on one of my QA1 shock.... HHMMMMMM

Well for those that are either helping out with the car or are keeping up with it and the winter issues, I got the fuel filter at Automotions that needed replacing, swaped the AN fittings on the pumps (-6 on the motor pump and like a -4 or -5 or whatever on the nitrous). Started puting it all in and I am realizing more and more the person that wired the car up did more of a hack job then anything, a lot of it was not meant to come off more then once. The pumps are held in with self taping bolts. So after you pull them once they don't want to go back in. I am going to have to open the holes up and put un regular bolts and nuts on the other side. The ground wires are beat up and have eye hole elevetrical conections on the end and go threw one of the two bolts holding the pumps on, only problem is they are not flush due to the design of the pump hold down, even with a washer. A beter way is to drill two holes next to the pumps and put the grounds there.....

Also have a few other issues with the wiring for the ignition but Im not going to go into it.

Since the motor pump was bad internally and the N20 pump was the same as noted above I swaped fittings and just put everything back were it should be, put some fuel into it and the bad motor pump started leaking with no fuel pressue (not good when its race gas thats leaking). So I just bypasses the pump and took the inlet line and hooked it up to the outlet line. Problem solved. Just one fuel pump for now.

I tried to fire it up with the rear end up in the air and got it fired for a bit but then it died and the battery did not have enough juice to crank it over again and I think its still to cold for it with no choke.

Before all this I cleaned the filters, had so much junk in them its not even funny, I blew an entire fly out of one of them......

The pump looks like it may be seeping a hair but it will get it the few miles to my house, keep in mind these pumps are almost as old as I am.....

Pumps have braided line going to them and out of them they go for a foot or so then go to tubing then at the regulator its rubber line.

Ignition REALLY looks like its points and its all so old I can't even find the stuff at summit.

This winter its getting swaped to digital ignition and a new fuel system with braided lines front to back, doubt it would pass tech right now since the hoses going to the regulators are held on with what looks like hose clamps, and they are next to one of the headers (can we say fire hazard if on let loose???)

On a side note the fuel pumps sounds better now the the fuel filter is not clogged.

Keep in mind I did not build this car.........

Car also sounds better now that its running on all 8 holes......... for the few seconds that it ran....

Jeff, I think I fixed the coil isssue........ for now.......

Glad to hear you got it back going...

I keep running into all kinds of little issues with my car. Thought the motor and trans were going in Sunday but I ended up having to the leave the garage early so there it sits. I am leaving for Spring Break friday, hopefully I have a ton parts on my doorstep when I get back!

when i go to do my rear, im going to go for a 9".. Just b/c the damn GM style of changing gears sucks!...

but i'lljust blow this one up a couple times and rebuild it.. Hopefully now that I have new bearings, carrier, Zexel posi, & 4.10's it will hold up for a while...not to mention that going to the auto will severely reduce the shock to the car and the drivetrain during launch.

I have found 2 more cracks in the sheetmetal on the underside of my car from it twisting.. i welded up 2 or 3 last summer, and then also had to weld a crack in the transimission crossmember. - shouldnt have that problem with the auto xmember since its braced better...
