The quality of work is ridiculous anymore
I pretty much do everything myself UNLESS i hear nothing but sincere good stuff about em.
I also tend to say away from companies

Oh on a side note.
Bought some 5364 heads. So my ls3 top end is complete.
I may have to switch TBs because aparently i bought one which needs to slot the sensor (whatever that means)
I believe ill be purchasing a ls2 remanufactured short block from thompson and a cam kit from brian tooley,
I have a few question though
This is going to be a HCI with bolt ons.
Now by my math, i should make 410rwhp with a stock ls2 and bolt ons. Add 30+ for the ls3 top end, and add 60 for the cam puts me at 500rwhp give or take depending on the cam.
Id like to stretch just above the 500 mark just because when i install a 9 i can still say i broke the 500 mark haha.
This will be thru a t56, and ill be aiming for 20mpg as well as sub 11 seconds in the 1/4 when i slap slicks on it and trim some weight
So on to my questions now that you know my goal.
Newer style ls2 timing chain should be fine?
Ls6 oil pump? Or melling 10295 high pressure?
Steel or titanium retainers?
And upgraded head/main bolts/studs?
And do my ls1 valve covers work with my 5364 heads?
Also what thermostat temp should i go with? My father said keep it stock
I will probably have shortuning do the tune and install
And i know im shooting fish in a barrel but. Should i bother putting 3.73s in my stock resr end just as a "taste-tester"?

ls6 pump or high pressure, either one will do. the high volume pumps can suck a pan dry
$$ is the factor
Always a great thing to do regardless
They may require some massaging
stock or 180*
and id highly recommend the trunion upgrade.
Also be sure to measure ptv clearance with ls3 heads on the small bore motors especially if you have milled any, because you may need to flycut to get the compression up and run a decent sized cam.
good luck hitting 500

Yeah i figured high volume would be a bad idea.
Titanium is only like $70 more. And i was told that triunion is only neccessary for boost or .650 lift cams and the same with the head/main studs/bolts.
Oh course if i get a l92 shortblock and have to get the vvt and dod delete then i can add head studs for $195 or head bolts for $46
And the vvt delete kit comes with arp cam bolts.
I just wonder if the ls3 front timing cover will work in my fbody or if ill have to get an ls2 style
The heads will be stock, not milled. I may have em ported but not sure yet.

Just a quick question...
I'm from the chicago area and was wondering if any of the drag strips in Indy have any street race type events and if they are any good? I would like to take the ride down there this summer and see some new cars and possibly race a little.
Also, is there any Indy based forum for street/drag racing? thanks!
