which truck to buy (daily driver)
i recently been promoted at my current job and will be on salary now. I have 6,000 saved up but also buying a house next year. I was looking into the mid size truck market for a nice daily driver. (want the ss to be the weekend driver) help me pick which one! I narrowed it down to three choices if thats any help at all.

i would look into a tacoma as well. What about a ranger? I really liked mine and it was extremely reliable and pretty quick- 16.0 in the quarter I had an fx4 and got a lot of compliments on the styling.

I don't post much but I had to chime in cause this one interested me for some reason...
I have to agree with spary here. May be made in the US but that doesn't mean squat. GM might make cars in China but the profits benifit us here in the US more than any workers it might benifit in China... Toyota doesn't make cars here to give Americans jobs, they do it because they do it for cheaper than in Japan. You're F-body might have been built with pride in Canada but that doesn't mean it's still not America muscle. I'm tired of Toyota.. So freakin overrated. 2006 they had more recalls than cars they sold. Look that up. Anyway, buy American wherever it is built and it will help your economy. Just follow the money.
Back to the poll. The GMC and the Chevy are the same truck. No difference except the cost of the nameplate. GMCs are usually slightly more expensive but not by much at all... The GMC, Chevy and Nissan will all have about the same power and fuel economy. The Colorado/Canyon I know though, will have a have a tougher chassis. The Colorado / Canyon will probley be less expensive depending on options of couse.. And the warranty well, Chevy wins there again.. Not too mention, and this is personal opinion , the Nissan is just freakin ugly with all the cladding a junk on them. So, I know I may be a liitle bias but this was kind of an easy comparison..... Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon FTW!!!!!
Whickever you choice it's your decision.. Just drive both of them and do unbias research before you buy.. If you don't like how it drives then it's not the Truck for you.... Simple... If you buy American than no one can blame you for the economy for crashing. Just food for thoguht...

In response to the above post:
Nissan HP: 261 @ 5,600 rpm
Torque 281 @ 4,000 rpm
Chevy HP: 242 @ 5,600 rpm
Torque: 242 @ 4,600 rpm
The Frontier tows 6500 lbs and has a V6 that has been on Ward's best engine list for the last 14 consecutive years. It also has a fully boxed frame, so as far as being a weaker chassis, uh, no. It will last FAR longer and maintain its resale way better than the GM products.
The Chevy tows 4000 lbs with its morphodite I-5 that has never won any awards and never will. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure it does anything but be a cheap throwaway pickup well. And I used to drive one everyday as a demo.
The Chevy does get 1 mpg better though. So there's a win.
I sell nissans now, used to sell chevy. There is no comparison. The colorado is garbage. Same goes for the canyon. Underpowered, rapidly depreciating, and cheap.
Keep in mind that I own a Chevy, and am unbiased.
