i try to get mine out and put it through its paces every couple weeks. like the day after it rains and washes the salt off. thats right in indiana, it might just snow one day, then rain the next, and then be sunny and nice on the third

February isn't even over and I have spring fever already. I can't wait to get the toys out this year. I'm shooting for the first weekend in April, or if the weather/road conditions are appropriate I will go out at the end of March. Whatever the case may be, I am more than ready to play again! I haven't driven either of the SS' since late October. I bought the Z28 in December, but have been messing around with it most of the winter to make it perfect for sale in a few weeks. I love my truck as a DD, but man am I ready to bang some gears and do a little cruising!

I have put a few miles on my car but mostly just to take it out on nicer evenings and go smoke a ricer or stang that pissed me off. I am getting tired of diving my pickup as a daily driver it sucks too much fuel. 12-15 mpg in the silverado vs 25-28 in the SS. Heck the weekend was nice i even took the t-tops off on sat night for a bit but my girlfriend made me put them back on because she was cold.

Holy crap it's coming down hard over here in Southside Chicago. Light fluffly snow though. Maybe the countdown should be postponed.

I am sick of driving my 02 Envoy or 96 Firebird and getting passed by these ricers or 05-07 Mustangs thinking they own the road. Happened to me last night with this 97-04 Mustang GT. The dude was trying to race me in my Envoy because I passed him up. Dammit!!

Anyone else with me on this countdown?!?!?
The count down started for me the day I parked my ****.

I start and check on mine every week. I put a new ac delco battery in and i'm gonna change the oil and put a new K&N oil filter on.

No need to change the trans fluid after storage, unless it was due for it anyway.

I put fresh oil in the car usually 1-200 miles before storage begins, then I'll drive it another 1-200 miles after storage is over before changing it again. My '98 has the original 10 year old engine without any issues at all, so this seems to be working well for me.

Out of all the cars ive stored I always changed the oil right after it came out of storage and never started it unless I had to move it I would just keep the battery charged up and just not start it until I was ready to drive it
I start mine every month. I usually get the garage warmed up to about 40* or so, then let them run for about an hour. The oil is quite hot after that, and I never get any of that white cream-like stuff on the underside of the oil fill cap like you see when there's regular amounts of excessive moisture inside the engine. Once it's been running for 20-30 mins, I'll bring the rpms up to the 1500-2000 range and keep it idling there for a few mins. That heats the oil up nicely.

Also been doing this since forever, it's never caused any issues. I'm not a big fan of letting an engine sit for months on end without running, unless the engine was prepared for long term storage. I don't go to the trouble of long term storage prep just for a winter, so I don't like having the rings sit on the same spot on the cylinder walls for extended periods. Also, by running the engine you've got the oppertunity to run the A/C system as well, and keep the seals lubricated preventing freon leaks. Lubrication oil in the A/C system can only be circulated by running the compressor. Not using an A/C system is one of the best ways to develop leaks over time. I always run the A/C compressor when I start the car during storage.

Mine is getting the seafoam treatment and an oil change soon after that. Also have a new fuel filter ready to go in. Just hope this current snow is our last major system.

Dammit, Thanks for the info RPM. I'll do that next winter, but what do you advise I do this spring?

Anyone else hit with a snow storm?

Good news. The weather will be climbing this week. Mid 30's for the whole week and it should hit 45 on Sunday.

That's what I thought as well until sixspeedsinc told me it would be a good idea to change after storage. Everything else you said I agree with 100%

K&N oil filter, not air filter. I already have one.

Hmmm.... guess they have different rules for the M6 trans.

I've never done that for any of my A4s. I change their fluid based on mileage only.
