Default 1 Month Count-Down! Got Your Car Keys Ready?

I'd say about this time next month I'll be driving my car out. I can't wait! That's one good thing about storing the car. It makes it more pleasurable to drive in the spring/summer along with the less miles put onto the odometer.

I am sick of driving my 02 Envoy or 96 Firebird and getting passed by these ricers or 05-07 Mustangs thinking they own the road. Happened to me last night with this 97-04 Mustang GT. The dude was trying to race me in my Envoy because I passed him up. Dammit!!

Anyone else with me on this countdown?!?!?

i haven't touched the car since it went under the cover in October. I have only been driving the race jeep and it is getting old. only thing i like about it is the nice ride and heated leather seats.

I can't wait to drive my car again. It's been under the car cover since last September and it's killing me.

Yeah I'm looking forward as well. We are supposed to get more snow and rain in the next few days, so I'm thinking it will be more than a month.

I'd be happy if the snow was gone and I was driving my car by this time next month. Just need to find a place to throw some paint on the new hood a spoiler and get a tune and it should be ready to drive for the year.

I wish Ill be able to drive mine in the next month or 2. But by the looks of it, she may be down for half the summer again. I need to free up some funds to get her rolling again.

Really? You guys are going to wait til' April? I'll see how the weather is from here on out. Today was nice and if it's consistent, I'll bring her out.

One off the topic question. How should I start up my motor if it's been stored since October? Talking about the oil. - and other suggestions and opinions.

You are supposed to change it before you start to drive it, same with tranny fluid. It's supposed to go,

1. Change fluid before storage.
2. Change fluid after storage.

Not sure if there is a certain way you should start it though. I start mine every two weeks, no special method. It would probably be the same for you. Unless you had an oil primer or whatever it's called.

Last year I took my car out in the middle of March, it all depends on how much rain we get. The roads are white with salt right now, so thats a no go for me. I have a 500' driveway though so I can drive it a little bit if I want lol.

Drove mine around the other day, it was nice out. Went somethin like 7.3 miles, then put it back in hibernation.

Isnt it bad to start the car and not drive it? Like if it sits for a month without being started then you start it for like a few mins and shut it back off and do the same in maybe 2-3 weeks? I heard something about that concerning moisture that would take maybe 20 mins od idle or 10 mins of driving. Out of all the cars ive stored I always changed the oil right after it came out of storage and never started it unless I had to move it I would just keep the battery charged up and just not start it until I was ready to drive it

Sounds to me like it could actually be a good year. You got a 9 inch now and maybe a rebuilt and stronger transmission. Good Luck with that.
