Need Help
Need Help I have a 00 Formula and I just installed headers and Y-pipe, the service engine light came on, it would come on sometimes before the headers were installed but would go out after a short drive but now it is on for good. I took it back to GM were they said the code was for the Mass Air Flow Sensor which I had the replaced. Now the light is back on again and GM basically told me to take it to a speed shop that specializes in this problem ( did like the answer), can anyone tell me of a good tuner shop close to Aurora and not of the chain for labor. I will be leaving town this weekend and want to take my car without the light being. Thanks J
when i did mine i had the same problem.......you have a base tune? also my maf gets dirty sometimes go to autozone or any parts place and get a can of maf cleaner and spry the **** out of it......i had a slp i went back to a stock one nd it helped out alot.....do that or the o2's.
Still need help Okay everyone I have replaced my MAF and O2 Sensors and still have the service engine light on, is there an easy way to reprogram the computer? The car runs great but I hate that darn light. J

Verdad Gallardo I did delete my my egr and was told this is most likely causing the light to come on, I will be getting a basic tune this weekend and they said this would take care of the problem with the light and they are also going to change some simple things in the computer system to give me more performance.
Check the fuse uner the hood, it maybe blown like mine was. I feel real dumb not checking the fuse but I would have thought the 4 mechanics before would have checked this before Speed Inc. which they ( SI) actually found this was pretty much the problem.
If you didn't install the AIR and EGR systems you will set off an SES light, you would also set one if you didn't install rear O2's. The only way to fix this is to have the codes turned off.
