Default First time at the track.

This was my first time out any dragstrip with my car. It was down at the Atlanta Dragway. Full weight 02 Trans Am WS6, mods to the car in sig with the addition of a Fab 9 with 3.70 gears and 100hp shot of Nitrous. I was running on Yokahoma S Drive tires.

1st time out. Tires @ full pressure.
R/T: .724
60': 1.993
330: 5.586
1/8: 8.832
MPH: 90.13
1000: 10.682
1/4: 12.568
MPH: 119.86

2nd time out. Tires @ 25psi
R/T: .744
60': 2.140
330: 5.537
1/8: 8.139
MPH: 95.55
1000: 10.344
1/4: 12.191
MPH: 121.84

I couldn't hook worth a crap on these tires. So I know my M/T's will help out. I was running about 950psi or slightly less bottle pressure.

And lastly, I'm redlining like 200ft before the 1/4 in 3rd gear and it wouldn't shift into 4th until I let up. So I'm not sure if my tune is spot on yet.

What do you guys think?

Wow you need to get some tires on that thing you should be deep into the 11's. Your running same times on teh bottle as my buddy with his LT's exhaust, lid, 9 inch,
clutch and flywheel Z on dr's. But his 60's are still only about 1.9 You have to just be spinning your *** off

given the engine mods i feel your trap should be much better, the ET i'm not worried about as you were on street tires. i would expect a head/cam fast 90 car to trap 120 WITHOUT a 100 shot. on motor this puts you in the 110 trap range. something is wrong.

Yah what he said i wasnt even paying attention to the fact you had a cam. Are your hp numbers off the bottle? cause if your spraying 100 on top of that even though your spinning id still expect alot faster with close to 550whp. But that trap is way low for head cam and spray.

hp numbers are without spray. I had to pedal first and second really bad, and a little in third and then put it to the floor.

As far as doing the mods, I've done a few myself but space and time are few and far between.

It was my first time. So I'm hoping with practice and alittle more tweeking on the car it would do better.

oh yah you deff will get better with time. And if your bouncing off limiter for a few hundred feet thats prob why your trap was low.

I run 12.5 spinning out of the hole cutting a 2.0 60ft.(my car wheel hops like a bitch) with an m6. and Im still working on my numbers... (extremely disapointed) and I still need a tune. (no heads/spray) You should be well into the 11's. A couple of my friends cars run 12 flat w/ just a converter and dr's... no cam/heads. I think dr's would help you drastically! Work on your reaction time also... almost 3/4ths of a second? the first 60 is where it is at! It all takes time and practice.

reaction time has nothing to do with 1/4 mile time you can sit there for as long as you want timer doesnt start till youtake off.

this is true, but I didnt say reaction time had anything to do with 1/4 time, I said "the first 60ft is where it is at" but if he plans on racing people...(at the "RACE TRACK") normally you want the lowest numbers... similar to golf.

Just curious here, but why did you spray if you were having such bad traction issues? You probably could have ran the same times without wasting nitrous and running the risk of putting your car in the wall.

It started off with all or nothing run. It was late and was looking like only going to get 1 run so I sprayed. Then I relized they were still running people through so I got back in line. I dropped the tire pressure on the 2nd pass to 25psi in hopes of stopping some of the spin. It was my first time and didn't really know any better. LOL!

if You do end up getting dr's seems like the sweet spot for me is around 15-17 psi. Your next trip will be better, as long as the numbers go down every time you go... your doing something right. lol

Lol...I could've told you ahead of time that setup wouldn't hook with those tires and a track prepped by Jesus himself.

true, but he won't gain the 10 mph he should with that extra 200' and an upshift.
