Default big thanks to David Heck and crew for removal and install of new engine

And I should in addition give big thanks to Burt (Bert?), Benny, and Tim.

I was looking for someone to help me install a 6L into my pickup in place of the old 4.8L. David messaged me and he offered me an extremely fair price to do this job. He is definitely willing and wants to help out the customer.

David and Burt ran into several problems during this removal and install but they were extremely resourceful and solved all the problems. Part of this was my fault for bringing a crappy motor, but I learned my lesson not to cheap out next time as it's not worth it. David and Burt answered all my questions and I got to help out as well and learned that these motors really aren't as complicated as they seem.

I can say with the utmost certainty that these guys are top notch and do very quality work. I will definitely be back to see them for some future mods. Hopefully David will come up with a shop name that sounds good coming out of his mouth  On a side note, the truck got 23.5 mpg to and back from David's shop, half of that with the 4.8 and half with the 6.0. I actually think the 6.0 gets better highway mileage than the 4.8! Amazing.

Here is the 4.8 out which had 143k on it, and still running very well. David, I wish I just left this motor with you guys now.....no interest so far in the motor.

Here is the LQ9 getting ready to go in..

And the final product looking just like stock

And here is z06 they did that put down 550 to the wheels

Yeah, David actually said most of the work he does is tuning. I brought a tuned PCM with me, but I'm assuming he's pretty good. I think next time I see him I'll have him tune my truck on the spot.

Its Burt. You got it right the first time! Nice work.

I'm super glad you like the turn out. I'm sure the 6.0 will get similar, if not better mileage that the 4.8. It will have to labor less to move the same amount of truck.

Like Dave said, if you need anything just call.

If you two aren't sponsors(which you aren't), please don't use the board for commercial use, you will get cracked down on for it.

We just helped a guy out with a motor swap that nobody else wanted to help with. There is no "commercial" use here. Just 2 guys helping another guy out. Besides, I didn't really see any of the "sponsors" jumping and the opportunity.
