sorry guys, I have been moving into that little town of Lacon and didn't have internet yet.
I peeled off the tint and put the front plate on, is there a way I can get out of this ticket now that I have taken the tint off? It gives a date for some address in Pekin, but it says that I am not required to be there. What's the deal?

In this little town of Lacon....****** state trooper wrote me for my front plate yesterday and a written warning for my tinted plate cover. Good thing my windows were down...i'm getting so used to being pulled over...he came up and before he could say anything...i said "man all i want is one day i can get my damn car out...and not get pulled over!" anyway he was not a dick so didnt give him any trouble. He also said that the tinted plate cover is the only equipment violation that goes against your record and he was'nt even sure why. Turbowhistle...you out in grandview? I've already heard "seen that silver Z running around" lol also i got a tinted window ticket in bureau county awhile back (S-10)..so i went in and talked to the the states att. he asked me if i took it off..said yes.. then dropped it. so try that if you hav'nt done anything yet

geez, i thought i had it bad in Nebraska. i have 5 or 6 fix-it tickets, for not having a front license plate, just sitting on my desk. no money involved here, so i just collect them!

Just go to court with a picture of a car with a front plate and no tints. Thats what I did and they dropped it.
But you can't really be pissed you were in violation. My Camaro used to get pulled over all the time since its a built motor, tinted windows, and no front plate. My Silverado SS I never get bothered in since its quieter and no tint. No front plate but cops seem to not care.

Like somehow they know exactly what all cars come with stock?
Illegal to have modified exhaust. Well crap, I guess my old 93 taurus would have been "illegal" in Illinois since it was no long stock exhaust since it rotted out. It had an aftermarket muffler on it, it even sounded a little different too

Ken, I'm gonna have to stop setting the alarm...god damn loud trucks and Harley's keep setting it off when I'm at work. Let me know when you're up for a cruise again, but I'm out of town on Saturday (Mopar show with my dad)

Damn you guys got it rough. I have 5% on my windows and I work with troopers all day during the summer lol. But the difference is extreme between our road hogs and the guys I work with. One thing though I know is Corsa is a GM autherized catback which would make it ok I would thing and SLP offers theres as option back when they where coming out so you could possibly squeeze your way around some of that crap.
A few years ago my dad and I got pulled over in Arizona for having tinted covers on the headlights in his truck and his tinted windows. Our truck was registered in California, but we still got the ticket and had to mail it in. Now that is some bullshit.

ANY aftermarket exhaust is illegal in IL. In GM HighTech a few months back the posted the Illinois motor vehicle code, and it states anything that changes the appearance or sound of the factory system is illegal. Which would technically make aftermarket tips illegal, but find me the officer that's gonna write that one.
It still bugs me that we can get slammed so badly with this, but every goddamn Harley owner can remove everything and run open pipes, nevermind the fact that they drive through town at 1 AM and make as much noise as humanly possible. Loud pipes won't save the life of the next Harley owner that goes flyin down my street at WOT after dark.

Not sure why people worry so much about these types of tickets. Yes, they are BS tickets, but if you want tints, a loud exhaust, and no front plate, then do it. And when you get tickets, just pay them. No worries here.

that's all fine and dandy, but if you accept the ticket and pay it, the next time you get stopped for it, its a misdemeanor and $1000 fine. So I chose to fix the tint and plate, fight it, and not pay a dime.
