I have a 2WD 2006 TBSS. I got it used in 1/2008. I put (3) 70 lb bags of sand from Menards in the back and I was fine. I live on the North side and never got stuck. One day it snowed hard and it was a long drive home. TBSS is like an F-Body in deep snow. So that was one day all winter that was sloppy.
My truck went 13.84 stock too, I like the power.

I drove mine through the winter with no problems. As long as you leave the traction control on you will be fine. I did not add any extra weight and the worst snow we had last year was no problem. If your tires are shot, forget about it.
The only bad thing in the snow is the understeer, it is the worst i have ever experienced. The good thing is, turn off the traction control and it's doughnut city.

if your going to buy, right now is the time to do it.
GM is offering:
-gm employee costs to the public
-on top of that $3000 - $5000 rebates
-1.9 to 3.9% financing
the sale started today, in effort to clear out the 2008s and promote truck/suv sales.
in regards to the TB being rwd. I have one that is rwd it was fine in the snow. The traction control worked great. However I might be trading mine in for a tahoe or silverado, need something bigger!

If you are ever near chicago/wells, addison/western pm me, you are welcome to drive my truck and get a feel for the power.
Now I also have a 2006 MDX, and I think that the MDX handles better. But the TBSS ran a 13.84 and is getting some mods soon. I think the MDX would run a mid 16.
I highly reccomend spending the $12 to get a bunch of sand bags, it makes a difference. If there is say two inches of snow on the ground, you might have to finesse the launch, roll out slow. It's annoying but how many days did we have like that last year. I'm going to check my tires in October, and if they are iffy I will get new ones as bald tires are dangerous in snow.

Sweet dude. I just picked up an 06 AWD TBSS today. Gotta have the AWD for winter, after all it is a truck.
Silver with 20k miles for $21k. Think I gotta a decent deal, just needs a good detail, previous owner didnt take care of it.
