I was at the game and had a blast rubbing it in to all my friends that are IU fans.

I rode up with them, so I didnt have the TA with me or else I would have posted something up. I did however see the black WS6 Police car, that thing was badass.

I would love to do it myself, but I don't have a place or the tools. I know A guy that has a lot of tools and a big pull barn, but we don't have any way to get the car high enough to work on it. Any ideas? How high does the car need to be? Do you actually have to pull the tranny or can it just be pushed back a little?

That would be awesome. Before we decide to tackle this one night, I need to make sure I have all the parts we need. I have a new slave cylinder and the flywheel, clutch disc, and pressure plate. I haven't picked up a new master cylinder yet, do you think I need one? What about any bolts or things of that nature?

If you wanna ask some of the PAPA guys, I'm sure they would help you out too. There are a few guys that have done that more than once on these cars.

I will do. I still need to purchase a throwout bearing and a master cylinder, so it will be a few weeks. I am sure I will need all the help I can get!

I really have no idea on how to tell if its bad. I know I have some major hydraulic problems, but I don't really know if its attributed to just the slave or master or maybe both.

Default hydraulic lines

Cody,
If you can get the tool to pull the line from the tranny GET IT... Makes it much easier to get that damn thing off and on. Very cheep piece of 10 cent plastic....
I'll help out on this thing as well. I'll also ask my friend where I did all my work and see what he thinks.
What kind of problems you having hydraulically?
I also have some Fire resistant hose covering that will be usefull to cover your line down to the slave. Especially helps the line from overheating if you have headers!!!! I know from experience!!!
Same fire resistant hose we use on military trucks on hydraulic lines that run close to turbo's.
Nate

Hey Nate, thanks a bunch. Where do I get the tool at and what is it called? I will definetly pick one up. I went ahead and found a cheap master cylinder with only 20k miles on it, even though I think mine is ok. So I have a brand new 01+ plus slave and a fairly new master cylinder. I am really struggling to find people who actually have done this before and who has all the right tools and a place to do it. I have spent about every cent I have on this clutch swap and the cam swap, so I don't have a whole lot of money to pay someone to do it. I am hoping I can supply some beer and food for whoever is helping and keep them happy. I was hoping to do this over brek somewhere between jan 2nd-12th. Coudl you or or friend do it on one of these days? Does he have a lift? I think I havell allthe parts necesary: Complete LS7 clutch kit, new master, new slave/throwout bearing, new pilot bearing, remote bleader, and I am going to rent a blind whole puller and a race bearing instal kit for the pilot bearing. Plus, I will take you up on the offer above, and use some heat resistant wrap for the hydraulic line. I also want to do the drill mod while we are in there. So I think I have evything lined up, you just let em know when and where and I will have it there. Thanks sooo much for helping a newbie out!

Default Australia

Hey fella's,

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted, I've been in Australia, I'll be back home next week. I have been away from a computer now for almost 3 weeks... Been nice...

Anyway, whats everyone up to?

Cody, you still wanting to try and put in your new clutch? In regards to the tool you need. You can probably just go to autozone and get one, If not head over to a gm/chevy dealer and see if you can round one up. They'll have them for sure.

Anyone else have any plans coming up?

I've been kicking around either lowering the car with some springs, or possibly upgrading to c5 13" rotors up front? Any thoughts?
