i do, want to be first in, my parents dont. Either way im going to be in infantry but i want to choose something different than marines to make my parents "feel more comfortable" about me joining.

Enlisting is something you need to do for yourself not to ease someones false fears. If you stilll want to join the Army, which is what I recomend, something to look into is a Ranger contract. It is called option 40 on your enlistment contract. If you make it through RIP you will work with some of the best in the army. Just be prepared to deploy alot and always be busy. The specops community is not for everyone but I enjoy the hell out of it.

You most certainly do....

Anyways if you are looking to enlist to pay for school, why not join the reserves or Army National Guard?

No not necessarily. Plenty of officers get a commission before their degree is complete.

honestly, you are the one raising your right hand, not your parents... do what you want for yourself on somthing like this, not to appease family. Trust me, you will just end up resenting them for it.

Marines arent always the first in and last out, ive been places a week before they brought in Army special forces (look up AF CRG).

Second, you need to do want you want to do, not what your mom and dad want. Not a good way to start off your life, doing whatever anyone else wants you to do.

My advice is to join as an officer if you have the college. A lot more money.

From what I have noticed Marines are rarely the first ones in but it sounds good as a recruting tool. What exactly does a AF CRG do.
