I have been officially accepted. Just received the e mail today. I gotta call the POC for this Monday and get the details on when I want to leave and all that noise.
Should be in San Antonio by Mid-summer.

If only it was that easy. We still have numbers in BMT we have to play by. Can't go kicking out everyone, gotta graduate some of them. Besides, instead of kicking out all of them when you get here be a damn MTI and train them.
Pipe, I'm not leaving until the end of July so maybe I'll still be here, when you roll in.

Thanks fellas..
I'm going to Hawaii for vacation in late June. When I talked to the POC for the MTI deal I planned around the vacation. I have a report no later than for 30 July and my class starts 14 Aug which is my birthday...lucky me!
Tate - You'll probably be gone, but have fun in Korea.. I don't know which base your going to but I hear Osan is the place to be. Thanks for all your help and advice man. Its greatly appreciated..
Jester - I understand where your comming from. I don't mind POL or deployments speaking of which I was slated to go in sept but it looks like I'll be missing out. It'll be nice to step out of the career field for a bit.

Its always good to move around, whether it be a special duty or to re-train. I consider my self lucky to see another side of the AF by re-training. Its not only good for you but your career too. Its all what you want to make of it.
Do they still do the shadow program their? I think its like a week long permissive tdy deal.

Yeah.. I should have some time when I get there to follow a MTI for a few days and get a feel for it.
Is it one year out of your career feild you have to wait to test PDG only?

99WS7- Yes the shadow program is still going, that's something I really think more people should do if they're interested in being a MTI, but they don't. To me it would be worth the money to find out if your gonna like it vs. moving your family and crap here to find out it's not for you. And trust me being a MTI is not for everyone.
Pipe- Next year you will test PDG only. I don't know about the exact time frame but I got here in Dec and the following year tested PDG only. Start studying now, a lot of people think "Well it's only the PDG I don't need to study" the cut off score for 8B000 is about 332-335 for TSgt, plus we're getting about 100 new MTI's within the next year and 1/2 so the cut off will go even higher if the promotion rate stay's the same. Then when your on the street and your jobbing 14-18 hour days, it's kind of hard to find time to study. I sewed on TSgt 1 Nov. of 2008, after testing down here 4 times.

I was warned by upper management about testing PDG only. I know my chances to make TSgt first time is slim to none... I'm going to try like hell though. If I was to make TSgt would they give me more resposibility or just run the streets like SSgt's and SrA?

Rank doesn't matter here it's all position. There are MSgt that has the same job as SrA both pushing flights then you will have a TSgt that is the interim section supervisor and the MSgt reports to him. Gotta love BMT.

Tate - Looks like we may meet. If everything goes well I should be on the road 4th of July weekend.. going to try to wait a day or two for heavy traffic and see how it goes. Thats the plan as of now... I'd like to get there ASAP and get settled in.
The wife and I got a house off of Potranco in between the loops. Nice house and the area is good from what our realtor is telling us. Going to do a lease option to by to get a feel for everything and go from there.
I don't know how often you check the texas section but it looks like they have meets at bigs there on 1304 and Potranco.
