I will be headed out to Fallon for about 6 weeks on June 5th. I have never been there and looking to see what there is to do and what to stay away from? Anyone stationed out there or been TAD there before please post up.

 

I grew up there and graduated high school there. It's a pretty much farming town. There are a few casinos, stockmans, the nugget. As for stuff to do:

The depot has a dance club, well last time I was there they did, Midnight roper, hick bar and dance, no strip clubs in town Reno would be the closest.

Lake Lahontan is about 15 miles from town not bad to go out on a weekend and see some locals...

Reno is only an hour away, Lake Tahoe is about 1.5 hours and is beautiful.

Sand Mountain is a popular spot this time of the year. It's a sand dune that a lot of people head to with sand rails and 4 wheelers.

Top Gun dragway is about 15 miles south of town.

They have the typical base stuff, bowling alley, batting cages, go carts, theater.

I think they have shuttles that go to town, I would say not one place is better than any other. You don't really need to avoid places.

Thats what all the sailors call the Depot.

You gotta go to C's soap and suds right down the street from the base. You can do your laundry and get absolutely shitcanned for real cheap. I have been there when an all out bar fight happened there beer and laundry were flying everywhere and I had to run to base at 1 am in the freezing cold. Good times. Reno is the **** strongly recommend going to Reno and doin the nightlife thing lots of hot chics running around.



I cant beleive Nobody mentioned the world famous BUNNY RANCH being less than an hour away. Why the hell would you wanna go to a tittibar?

The good: Reno, Tahoe, Pigs in Space, alf-alfa and corn.

The bad: Everything else.

 

I was there for a couple weeks back in '03. Can't remember the names of places i went, but i had a great time. We went to Reno one weekend and Hot August Nights happened to be going on, that was awesome.

 

HAHAHA Fallon sucks. Anyways wait til althrottle see's this... He was raised in fallon and he loves pigs in space.

Anyways if you're looking for something to do. Reno will probably be your best choice. But that also depends on what you're into.

yeah.. Fallon sucks, all there was to do was drink and work.. and well they have a drag strip out there too.. that was alright.. if something is going on.. I wouldnt waste my time at the Depot, or Pigs in space whatever.... we do alot of dets out to fallon during workups and I have seen some nasty **** there.. watch out for a few cross dressers, and wierd ****.. not as bad as Key West Fl.. but still there are some.. If you stay in the barracks by the hangers, they have BBQ pits, and a gym, some little wifi area..normal MWR stuff.. if you want anymore advice hit me up
