I just posted that pic on a different site. That shockwave is really nice. It comes off the wing so naturally.

And notice...no burner...not many planes can do that.

(I think the picture would be far cooler if his cans were on though...imagine 8ft long flames)

He is probably supersonic, those vapor cones only form at low pressure areas. So if he was doing a high G-turn or going supersonic. He is straight and level there so that only leaves supersonic.

AND THIS.............MY FRIENDS.........

is why I want to fly the crazy ol' AV-8B Harrier the rest of my career instead of switching to the F-35.

Little bugs on a conventional airplane are bad enough. Little bugs on a v/stol airplane........

Well, I think we all know the reputation of the AV-8A "carolina lawn dart"

Doubt it. It's no secret any new cutting edge technology will have problems.

Mishaps I can think of involving the (Y)F-22A:
-Computer induced oscillation on take off
-Canopy
-International Dateline
-Civilian test pilot crash
-RAIM into intake
-Nose landing gear X2

Note: The million dollar threshold that makes a mishap a Class A is easy to pass when you're talking new airframes such as the F-22.

Does this mean I think the -22 is a turd? Far from it...it is a new ground breaking technology so of course it's going to have problems.
