Default Hawaii folks...I got a question for ya..

I'm at Eglin right now. I just got orders to Kunsan, and today i found out i got a follow on to Hickam! Im pretty stoked, however i wanted Travis AFB bad cuz thats where my son lives with his mother. But it is what it is... I am not complaining.
I remember reading a long time ago the track closed. IS this still true?

I'm planing on picking me up another LSX vehicle before i get out there, anything i should keep in mind prior to coming over?

Thanks!

Yep, the track is still closed.

From what I've heard from other people, some of the inspectors can be **** about dumb ****. I went to the NEX auto hobby shop for my inspection and they passed me even though I had a turn signal that was out. Other that that and the roads being ****, not much else.

Oh yeah, the off-base cops suck too. Not many places to go fast.

If you're getting a car and want to do mods, we don't really have any tuners on island to help you out, I would recommend getting a car that's done or getting it tuned before shipping it out here. We have been able to get the guys from Vengeance racing to come out in the past but most of us have our cars done and we would need 6-8 people to get them to come out again. Shipping things out here can get really expensive too.

As far as inspections go, there are places you can get by. I can echo the sentiments of the other three guys about no real go fast places and cops. Speeding and street racing out here are some major offenses.

Rex,
So when has all this about thw track come out now? first I've heard about it.

Couple of different clubs out here too, HIFBA.com and 808Camaros.com. HIFBA is for mostly Camaros and T/A's but open to any LSX vehicle, 808Camaros is pretty much Camaros only. Two good groups either way.

What do you do in AF? I'm at Hickam in CES.

My report no later than date is 12 APR 2011 on my birthday lol.
I will be working at the 15th FSS squadron. Not exactly where yet though...
and i cannot figure out if i should just keep my quad cab truck and take it there for the ease of my surf board and loading my dirt bike, or if i should sell it and order a new SS or Z28 vert? or go old school and turn it into a LSX corner carver.. but if there is no track and no auto crossing... i may stay out of the LSX game

Ah sounds good. Maybe a little hope for when i get back from deployment the end of the year. definately keep the updates rollin.

Back on topic. get yourself the 5th gen and come roll out here. there are a few places to have fun, but you have to be careful sometimes. cops are a bear out here.

If you get the Z28 vert, your surfboard will fit. If you bring your truck out, there are some LSX f-bodies out here that aren't that expensive to have the best of both worlds.

Thing is i dont know if i would get that vert in time to get out there. I'll have to look into the ordering process at the dealer and see.
I like the idea of keeping the truck and getting another LSX to. Is there that many F-bodys for sale there?
What would be a rare F-bodys to have there?
