Go O. You put in the time and money to get a degree and you ought to be paid commensurately.
Although you mentioned that you were/are pretty fit and will return to your previous level of physical activity, a reconstructed knee will always present a liability to the military. How it will affect you is uncertain until you take a physical, if you're allowed to go that far. I don't know about Os, but when enlisted get their initial entry physical, we are given a PUHLES (physical, hearing, eyesight, etc) score, with straight 1s being the most favorable rating. Check out what jobs are available and see what the PUHLES (if that rating system is used for officers) score minimum is. The score you may personally be worried about is the "L", for "lower extremities". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PULHES_Factor)

Man, anybody in their right mind that has made the decision to join any branch of the service (especially during wartime) should EXPECT to be away from their family for extended periods of time. It depends a lot on branch of service and job, but if anybody's planning on joining the military to stay home, you should forget about it and get a job at your local fast food restaurant or grocery store and work your way up the ladder there instead. Sounds like the dude's took all that into consideration already Good luck on whatever you end up doing Ven-dizzle

Not every senior enlisted is respected either it really depends on you, ive met some outstanding officers and some shitbag enlisted NCOs and vise-versa . Just do your best and remember some pvts know more than you.

that knee will be the end of it......med waivers are a pain to get right now.....i waited almost 3 yrs for 1......and if you cant pass a PT test....go ahead and shoot yourself.....can you run 10 miles a day?

Apparently I wouldn't last in the Army because I give users infractions for breaking rules.
I'll let you know when I can run again.
