Transporting car question/information
Hello to all, I am currently in the process of moving from NC to TX and I am looking to take my Camaro on a trailer w/truck if all possible, my issue is I do not have a truck and I am looking to rent one with a trailer to make the move. I've looked at sites like Uhaul,Enterprise,Budget Etc.. so far the closest one was Uhaul but they do not provide a pick up truck for that kind of trip. I've also looked at getting my car simply shipped out there but the $$$ are way out of budget.
Has anyone done something similar to what I am trying to do, or know of a company that can provide that kind of service please share any information. Thanks

Well I assume your doing a ditty move? If so I rented a penske truck and car hauler and and moved my stuff from tx to va. I think it was a 16ft truck (which in your case u can get a smaller one) and with the car trailer with gas i ended up spending roughly 1500 for gas and everything... If you are doing a ditty move it shouldnt be bad as you will get paid for the weight of the stuff u move.

Well the move is going to be through the Goverment. They refered me to finance as to they will give me a voucher for the trip from NC to TX for gas etc. I personally wanted to find a way to take the vehicle down there w/out putting the mileage on it.

he's correct about not getting reimbursed for the car or the dolly. I just shipped my camaro from San Diego to Memphis. I've done it twice, once there and once back as I got stationed here and there. around &725 both times on an open car hauler. I beleive thats the easiest way to do it.
