contractors
Any of you guys ETS from the service, become a contractor and return to the service? Possibly have an opportunity to do a contracting gig. But, I'd love to go officer as well. My plan would be get accepted, do it for a couple of years finish my degree and go back in as an officer. Would any of this be feasible? Advice, etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Have no answer for your question but will say I hope what ever decision you go with that it works out for you. I'm trying to get back into the military in general but I may have a little road to travel first though.

I'm contracting after I was in for just over 8 years. Forced med retire after injuries down range. I can't say how it'll go for you getting back in, but contracting can be pretty cut throat. Definitely make sure you have a job on lock.

depends on your MOS, and what you want to do as far as contracting. im contracting now, and have been for 2 years. the pay is GREAT!!! Time home sucks, but if your single, go for it! There are PLENTY of contracting jobs, depending on what your good at, or what your exp. is.

Well they got back with me. Told me I have too much time left. They also got ahold of my buddy that had the same ASI and told him they are only interested in retirees. If anyone is a 2A and is a graduate of INIWIC get with me and I'll give you the info.

go for it.. cant afford too many nice things on mil pay.. but a year or 2 contracting can set you up for a an easy ride to come back, finish your degree and then go back in to the dark side..

I would say if you are thinking about staying in, do it. Go to OCS, and get your pretty butter bar. The benefits of staying in (health care, job security, etc...) are great to have in this economy.
