Hey fellas, just seeing who all is out there. I'm sure Apachedrill will check in if his job at HRC doesn't have him playing Solitaire-wars.
Anyhoo, how many of you miss it? I can honestly say this civilian world sucks. I've been retired for almost 4 yrs now.

Wow! Congrats guys. I still have a couple more years left (I joined later in life). The wife decided to retire next year. I'll be ready when it's time.
So much optimism in here for the civilian world.

Retiring in Feb 2015 when I leave Germany, I hope to have the whole triple paycheck thing going on as well. I'm sitting at 21 years now and am looking foward to it. Running with these damn kids everyday is getting on my nerves.
Just left Hawaii for NATO Netherlands. I've been here three months and REALLY miss the US military and Hawaii. I'm completely over NATO. Only a few more years until I retire, use the GI Bill, attend the SAM and get on with my life! :-) Congrats to all you fresh retirees. I wish the best for all of you.
No complaints here.Civilians are a different breed that's for sure, all about self but I understand their position and can't fault them for it.
I'm stationed at Fort Stewart and have till October then retire at 21 years. Army has changed hell I got yelled at for asking for some white out. Apparently thats against regs now, along with blackout drive and slave cables!!! WTF OVER.....
I retired back in October '14 after 20 years, now I doing the same job as a federal employee on the same base I was active duty at.
I'm surrounded by military at work so I cant say that I really miss it, really the only thing I miss is all the extra money that I got(haz duty pay, sea pay, etc..)
I don't miss the deployments or the uniform that's for sure.

USAF retired in 2004. Now on 100% disability due to hearing loss. Worked quite a few jobs to include one DoD (GS-11) and one civil service (GS-9). Working with civilians is tough after 20+ years military. They just have lower standards.
