Howdy. I'm currently down at FT Bragg (well, at home in Va Beach over this long weekend) preparing for a CA deployment to Iraq. I was supposed to be in the class that started 30 Jan, but there weren't enough seats for all of us - supposed to go on 13 March now.

FYI....I'm Active Duty USN.

Don't know much about it, although they didn't like it when I drew in sharpie a bullseye on a 8 year old kids forhead. I do know they go through a lot of deployments.

the CA guys are supposed to be nice guys. they hand out soccer *****, medicine, play with the kids and do village visits. it like doing a humanitarian aid mission, but it lasts the whole deployment. CA Group (we call it CAG in the USMC) Marines are suppossed to play the good cop role, while the regular infantry play bad cop. for example, joe devildog's platoon is patrolling down a street doing cordon and knocks, and have to bust a few doors. well, later on, the CA guys go down that same street and pay for the damage done, plus maybe bring a corpsman to give free medical aid to the citizens, or talk to the sheik about building a new school or something. anything they can do to have a positive affect on the community. hope this helps. and Mr. Yak, why they don't want CA guys drawing bullseyes on kids.

Yeah, we would go out with CA guys to pull security while they handed out the *****, blankets and gay looking books with muslim and american kids holding hands I'll take a pass on that lol

I just like the idea of being in a USASOC unit. Gets me out of the big Army for awhile and it gets me some cool training.
