Have fun paying for that GTO for the first year...
I almost threw up when I saw my first check in basic. I thought I was going to loose my car. A good year of having almost nothing...
HAWAIIBOYSZ--Hasn't basic been extended?

ive heard about the M16 stuff, and moving warrior week. but what makes me mad is now they dont have to fold nice little squares for clothes or use those s#!tty canteens. now they roll their clothes and they get ISSUED a camelpack.
i went through in 01 by the way

Yea, basic has been totally revamped. GOOD LUCK!
What pisses me off is that I went through field training for ROTC last summer, and we had to do all the "attention to detial" and 6 inch squares. I would have loved M-16 training instead. It'll be a LONG time until they make those changes to officer training. Oh well, only a year left till I get my butter bar.

Funny...those same rumors about extending basic were around when I went through basic in early '89. It needed to be harder and longer then, and I am sure it needs to be harder and longer now!
