I haven't gone to Brookes yet to find out if I am PPQ (potentially pilot qualified) but the hard part is out of the way. I'm getting plastered tonight!!!

wow, congrats!
Take the tanker/bomber/airlift route! You'll gain massive hours fairly quickly and have a guaranteed job when your done with the military (well, if you wanna go that route at least).

You look constapated LOL.
Yeah if you want lots of flight hours go tanker/bomber/transport.
Lots of fighter pilots that are now Guard/Reserve now that fly civilian during the week.
It would be easier for you to get a job as a civi with bomber/tanker/transport hours though. Companies like to see big plane flight hours but like I said, plenty of fighter pilots out there that fly heavies now or still fly fighters on the weekends.

Best of luck to you man. My oldest brother just got his wings pinned on. He's going through C-130 training right now. One of my friends leavs for F-16 school in a month or so. I'm hoping to get hired with my unit out of montgomery to fly the 16 when I graduate.

Just my .02
I would try and get in as early as you can. ROTC is a good route. 28 SOUNDS right but with being a pilot it like many jobs you want to get into as young as you can.
I will let other asnwer what you have to do after you get commissioned but as far as I know you just get into the process and apply for flight school????

Thanks guys! I wanna be a hog driver, so -38s, then A-10s for me hopefully.
I am not prior-E, just a college student doing AFROTC. I am a 300, so Junior. Already went to field training at the lovely Maxwell AFB, AL.
I don't know the age requirements, but I think 28 is the MAX age you can be and enter flight school.
Really you take out what you put into ROTC. I am very active in my detachement, I am in charge of the Candidate Training Officer (CTO, kinda like an MTI) for our sqaudrons Arnold Air Societ. I'm also the S-5 for our universities Pershing Rifles Company. Good PFT scores, I rocked the PCSM and AFOQT so that definitly helped. My GPA is okay, nothing special.
I suggest you sign up on baseops.net, theres a ton of information there.
Good luck!

Congrats dude! UPT is one of the most stressful times of your life....but when I look back...it was also when I had the most fun! Everybody is in the same boat of **** so you all have lots of common experiences and a great bonding experience (does that sound ?)
Be careful at ENJPPT though, I hear they eat their own there and it has a historically high washout rate. Don't get sucked into all the fighter guy BS, what really matters in the end is getting the wings. There are thousands of guys sitting in cubicles right now with a tie on that would kill to be where you are. My advice is to study your *** off Sun- Fri, get completely shitfaced Fri night, sleep all day Sat, then start studying again on Sun. Oh and forget all that gay extracurricular stuff you did in ROTC...it doesn't mean squat when you get to UPT and nobody cares how good your drill routines are...its a level playing field when you start...you are all equally worthless!
Good luck dude...keep your eye on the prize and don't let them beat you down...thats what they are looking for to wash you out. "Eye of the tiger Rock, eye of the tiger!"

Oh...and here is another thing...if you can go straight to UPT without going to ASBC, do it. Once you re in pilot training they waive that requirement...it doesn't do anything for your career either...they set that course up for all the cubicle warriors so they would have some kind of PME on their first OPR. Its freakin worthless, just like going to another field training camp only as a 2LT. Get to UPT, get flying, and remember...everyday is a checkride...but its only 1 year of your life. Its all about the wings dude...
