03 Cobra or 02 Trans am
I just got orders to Osan AB. Ill be gone for a year so I think I'm going to sell my car before I leave and get an 03 Cobra when I get back. What do you think about the 03 Cobra's? Do you think I will regret it if I got the Cobra?

IT depends i got rid of my bolt on spray a4 camaro and i miss it. the cobra is nice but but i just prefer the camaro over the cobra. granted the cobra can be fast for cheap but it seems like its missing something. although the cobra is an attention ***** so i get compliments every time i drive it. i say drive one before you buy/get rid of your ta. good luck.

Hmmm...that's a tough decision. '03+ Cobras are one of my favorite cars...and I'm not a Ford guy. I would just keep the T/A. Both cars have great reputations and an endless aftermarket but you really can't beat the potential of LSX powered cars.

Careful driving over there!!!
1. If a car over there doing 50 mph (and is say 5'8" wide) sees a gap thats 6' wide, will not brake while aiming at that 6' gap.
2. If someone driving say 50 mph again, honks before they hit a pedestrian, it's the pedestrians fault. . .
at least that was the case when I was there in '95. . .

Think you had this posted in the general forum once but I'll say it again
Cobra if you want to do some serious power and have an alright looking appearance of a car (sorry stang guys...i just don't favor them). Great for the track from what I've heard from some ppl though
T/A If you want something that looks mean as hell and put the extra effort into the NA side of things. The S/C is really the only thing going (IMO) for the Cobra.

First off, Good luck at Osan. I just got back from there in feb.(now getting ready to leave later this year for 8 months in the sandbox ) Have fun and watchout for your friends(curfew, "Juice"), they don't call Korea the career killer for nothing. Second, hit up "The Lion's Den" and the "Whiskey" good bars! I managed to pay off $8k on my car when i was over there.I was putting away $1k a month (got it in June of 06 and paid $1k on it till Jan 07)single E-4. "You can do it!!!" Third, ya got a LSX T/A, if you're really lookin for the 4xx HP/TQ check out Patrick G's most recent thread in the Gen III Internal section....
ditto.
Very nice cars, but the S/C makes the car IMO.

I guess Ill be the one to say it and keep in mind here, I have owned 3 LS1 cars and a LT1 car.
I traded my N20 fed, stalled and geared 2002 SS for my Cobra. I never looked back, The 03/04 Cobras are an icon to the modern muscle car they are simply easier to mod for **A LOT** less money. mine has less squeaks and rattles (w/ SFC) than any F-body I've rode in. IMO I think they look better than the Camaro and the resale is twice what the F-body car are now.
If you had a firehawk or WS6 I'd say keep it, but a plain jane T/A just isnt grabbing a whole lot of attention these days.
My vote is for the Cobra
$2500 invested and I'm sitting deep in the 11's@ over 125 w/ a crappy 60' time (1.88), and still getting 20+ on the freeway.

Also something to consider, Insurance rates. I dunno what it'd be with a Cobra but I know its gotta be the same if not more with a Cobra. See you can build up that T/A and the insurance company'll never know its not puttin down say 4xx HP/TQ. With the Cobra they already know its gunna be 385 HP car and that'll reflect in your premium...Just some food for thought
