my sup. told me to take the total number of promotees (which is wut... 15k for this year?) and divide that number by 12. that number shuld be the amount they will promote per month, so u find ur line number amongst that dividend and u will be able to see when u shuld sow on (roughly).

for instance, i believe the total number of promotees this year was somewhere around 15,000. divide that by 12 (15,000/12=1250). so 1,250 SrA will be promoted each month. my line number is 5,675, which means that after about 4 or 5 months, my number shuld be up. puts me sowing on about dec/jan timeframe.

question i have is - how do they determine line numbers? i was recently told that the higher u score, the lower it becomes. but i have always been under the assumption that ur TiG plays the majority of ur number??

TIG is the key factor here. There is a guy in my shop that made it with 75's on both tests, and his line is somewhere around 15000. He hasn't been in long. On the other hand, another guy in my shop scored low, but has been a SRA for awhile and his line is 2000-something. Congrats to all you guys who made it, and good luck next year to those who didn't!

Line #13015... first time testing, made the cut off by a hair over 25 points.... Buddy of mine came in the same time but didn't make BTZ got 15,110 or something like that. Of all the guesstimates I've made I figure I might squeak into July next year, and he'll get August/All others... fine by me, just glad I made it my first time

I didn't open a single piece of study material and I was off by six points. My low TIS/TIG points is what screwed me. But it's better I didn't make it because that is one person that I didn't take a stripe from when I palace chase in a few months when I get back stateside

Congrats to all that made Staff... This was my second year being eligible to test, last year I missed my test date but made it this year. My line number is 6633, I'm really not sure about when I'll be sewing on Staff but at the same time I'm just happy to have made it...

67.67 on PFE and 56 on SKT, higher than 98% on PFE and 85% on SKT.... Time to get back into slim body shape... not real anxious to have to buy new blues pants but I haven't worn them since I was about 25 lbs lighter. Mostly gained muscle weight but I did add a few extra around the middle that'll have to go before ALS. Anyone else in the same boat or am I the only fatty?

^ I'm 6583, so when you find out when you sew on, I'll be right ahead of you. Jan or FEB I figured.

So what you're REALLY saying is, you could have spent an hour or so skimming the books and made it.

I work w/ a guy out in the MOC that just missed it again. 12 years..... He's gone. I don't know HTF you manage that. And he doesn't want to get kicked out either....

First time out for me. Missed it by 10. 59th NS. Only promoted 105 in my Command Post career field. Scored 252 and cut off was 262... Pissed but what are you gonna do...
