I can't tell if this is sarcasm.

I guess you didn't see the order grounding all F-15 A-D models due to defective longeron's?

The F-15E is not affected though. I do agree, the E model is one badass bird.

Haha, I'm pretty sure I could never tell the difference, but there has to be a mod to the body somewhere for it to be changed to an E

Basically,

C model is Air/Air, one-seater.
E model is Air/Ground, two-seater "Strike Fighter".

Plus the C model is painted a lighter shade of gray then the E model.

outta curiousity - whats the problem with talking about this subject over a public website? its all over the media already, and u can read up on the international transportation laws, as well as nuclear transportation regulations, on public websites.

if the names or positions of those affected were released, then what's really the difference talking about it here? im not sure i see where the security is compromised in this thread..

Front closest to farthest: F-16, F-15E, F-15E, F-15C, F-16

The F-15E Strike Eagle are two seaters and painted a darker gray than all the F-15A/C's which are light gray. The F-15D is a light gray two seater that is used for training.

Maybe its because the picture is the size of the my house, but I only see 2 F-15E's and 1 F-16 in there. Perhaps there's more hiding in there, but I can't tell.

Can you post a bigger picture?

Edit - Just found the other 2 aircraft, but I still think having a bigger picture would help.

A & B models are the oldest, meaning the least advanced on RADAR package and other TCTO's...

C & D models (the ones I work) utilize older technology, but not so old as the A/B models... and are in active duty status (with the exception of right now with the grounding order due to structural integrity issues).

E models are the Strike Eagles, which have Terrain Following RADAR, LANTIRN, and other goodies that are not allowed to be discussed on a public forum. The RADAR package is far more advanced on the E models and their bodies are slightly larger than the A-D's overall. The dark paint scheme sets them apart from a distance, but up close they are easy to spot in alot of ways. All F-15's are Air/Air capable, but the E is A/A and A/G mission ready. Either way, I miss working the A-10's... F-15's are a pain in the *** to work.
