This thread makes enlisted people look like fools. Which, in all actuality, we are, for enlisting to make crap pay. Should have got my degree first.

No I dont. They put there pants on one leg at a time, just like me...

I work with 7 different officer's. Two LTJG's, Two LT's, Two LCDR'S, And One Commander. So after working with them for close to a year, They have actually brought me in like one of there own. Its kinda nice, I don't have to say Sir or Mam everytime I want to talk to them, Unless there are other high up people around that do not know, that we are a tight nit group.

Infact, I have had them over to my place and me over at there place Numerous times, brewing beer, and drinking last batches. Gets kinda crazy with a Commander and a Female LTJG. lol

haha..i agree!! all they have is a basic training ribbon and national defense..lol. some officers are cool, but i dont really get intimidated by any of them. all the officers that i have worked under, i usually joke around with them, to where the next time im around them, we talk like weve known each other for a long time.

**** no I'm not intimidated by them. They put their pants on one leg at a time just like me. Just because they're officers, does that mean they can kick my *** or something. I'd rather have some leftenant pissed off at me than an old crusty CSM.

Where does this whole putting pants on "one leg at a time" come from? I put mine on both legs at the same time...so I guess that does make me better after all

It is kinda funny that you guys all have the same reaction...internet tough guys are entertaining though.

from what Ive seen most pilots are down to earth guys, dont really care a whole hell of a lot about calling them by rank unless your in front of other officers you dont know. Then your basically calling them out in front of their peers saying that they have no military bearing, blah blah blah. most of the dick officers I have encountered are the ones that come right out of the academy or are just dicks to begin with. as long as the respect is there when its needed then thats what counts. but as far as people tryin to pull rank whether it be junior officer or junior enlisted is retarded in my book.

it comes down to this...if someones a *****, they wont change when they join...no matter if they are enlisted or commissioned. Theres no reason to be intimidated but some people are more comfortable communicating than others.

and for Meentss02, I put my pants on all 3 legs at a time...how bout them apples!

i work with 0-3s through 0-6s all the time. side by side, so no not really. my career field officers come in as 0-3s. most of them are cool and really nice people. (medical officers are great) but there are a few ******** out there like anywhere.

Its just a way of saying that they are all human just like me. If I give them the respect, then they give it back. And thats what I would expect.

Im no internet tough guy... So I don't know what you are talking about on that part. And nor was I trying to be. He asked a simple question, and I answered it. So whats so tough about that???

Are you military??

I totally agree with all of this.

One time not to long ago, we had a new JG come check in with us. I was polite with him, said yes sir no sir, all that good stuff. Well as I finished signing his papers, and was handing them back to him. They accidently slid from my hands, and went to the floor, I was sitting behind a desk, and he was facing me, with the papers at his feet. He looked at me, and after a moments pause, Said Are you going to pick those up. Luckily, right as he was saying that, my DH was walking up behind him, and heard the whole thing. Man I never seen a JG get his *** reamed so fast before. But now everytime I see him, its like he is out to get me. Oh well...

But what really made my day, is that my DH, Witch is a LCDR, stood up for an enlisted man, and not one of his own. Thats when I knew I had a good chain of command.

I wish our medical officer would stand up for his own damn mistakes. Today he basically just lied straight to another officer and said the enlisted guy FORGED his signature to get one of his own guys seen by a specialist over here. He was wrong and instead of saying so threw the E4 off the July 14th bridge basically. Luckily our E7 cant stand him either and knew the E4 is a damn good soldier and medic and would never do that ****. I was so pissed off at the O5 that they literally MADE him leave the aid station or he was going to get his *** beat by all the medics in here.

That is the crap that I cant stand.

Is that normal? I commission in a couple months, and my buddy is a year behind me. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect. I definitely don't feel like people should act differently.

Thoughts?

And if anyone in the AF can get their hands on a pair of 32 short ABU pants I will buy them off you ASAP...I swear everywhere I look is out.
If i got nervous around officers, then i wouldnt be very effective at work. My sqoudron is made up of mostly officers. For example my "flight" has 6 enlisted (me included) and 4 officers (2 caps 2 lts) There are two other flights in the sqoudron one with the exact same setup as my flight 6 e's, 4 O's. Then the other has apporximately 6 E's and about 15 O's. Obviously this isnt normal, but its what i deal with. Just another oddity i am the lowest ranking person in the squodron (im a SSgt,) and all the other E's are atleast 5 years older then me...
And if you are still looking for abu pants...well vandenberg has plenty

Hows Lompoc area? I used to live there for 9 years growing up.

Anyways I dont get nervous around officers, most of the time i joke around with the CW2 and CW3 I work with and the 2 LT's in my unit.
When I was deployed I had a LT who thought he was better then everyone and you couldnt talk about anything other then work with him. Well later on after we got back from Iraq he was under investication for sleeping with a enlisted soldiers wife.

my dreams to go WO and fly Apaches.

Lompoc is what it is... dont know when you left here, but i was here 6 years ago before being stationed out here, and not much has changed. Santa Maria on the other hand is getting big...110,000 people plus the illegals...
Good luck with your pursuit of warrant

Im around pilots all day and they are either really cool with you or they are complete ********, no middle ground. I just dont see why they think they are so much better because they went to college? My little sister went to college, big deal, i joined the AF so i wouldnt have to go to school.

It takes a college education to break it, and a GED to fix it.

He was probably just out of Basic and scared shitless of anyone who out ranks him. I was like that for a week or so too.

I don't get nervous around officers, but I don't really want anything to do with them.

You should cross a pissed off Gunny on the wrong day....My XO said he avoids Gunny's when they are pissed because they intimidate him.

I think some 2nd LT's are intimidated by Sgt's in their early months in the Marine Corps atleast.

I saw a Sergeant Major have 2 LT's standing at parade rest getting their alphas charlied......
