Not including a tune to make it all work.

Ok got everything in and started but it runs for a bit and then starts acting like **** and dies with horrible clattering if i try to keep the RPM's up and if i try to get it to drive in gear it feels like it is horribly bogged.

I am figuring these problems are from the added air and from the lack of EGR cause i took the system basically out when i did this and i havnt deleted it from the system yet.

How do i delete the EGR from the system and how do i tune for the added air?

ls1 Edit, or HPT can tune out the codes, and that way you can tune for the added air. It is clattering? Like, valves or springs? Cuz that really isn't good.

No its not a valve or spring noise its more of a noise when an engine is about to die and you give it fuel. I have LS1 Edit but i am still a little wary about the tuning.

Get a mail order tune from Speed Inc. a sponsor on here. This will make it able to drive safely until you can get a dyno tune.

http://www.speedinc.com/services.cfm

After that get the car Dyno tuned.. be sure to get a good tuner(no blow Joe down the street). You don't want some half *** tune job on your car.

Best tuner from what I hear is nicD. What cam do you have? Do the cam, then go see nic up in phoenix. Maybe Mike can help you with a decent street tune to keep the car alive.

I wish i could get in touch with mike cause i havnt paid the 20 bucks at SMC yet and i am still debating.

How much is a mail order tune? I cant be dropping a crap load of money on this right now cause my house and i have already spent too much.

Also my check guages light came on and my oil pressure was low but when i give it gas it goes back to normal and theres steam coming from my valve covers and crankcase. what gives there?

By the way the cam is not in yet.

I could send him a PM, and give him your number for you. I paid Tony my $20, so I'm good. Steam and oil pressure issues...your sending unit still fine? What about your PCV system? You still have the ls6 intake on their, so did you reconnect the PCV correctly? You could be getting a lot of blowby.

I took the PCV system off cause i dont want it putting oil in the intake, im not sure about the sending unit but when i just started it at lunch the oil pressure was fine.

If you could let him know i am in need of some tuning help, my cell is in my sig and my name is james. Thanks

When i hooked in the laptop yesterday it told me that i was running rich and i hope this is my problem that it is just drowning the car with fuel.

dang man, just saw this. I dont have much time these days but I would have tried to get to the hobby shop and give you a hand, Im sure Brett would have too. Good luck with the car. Like you said, its running rich and Im sure it cause the computer has no idea whats going on so its dumping a crap load of fuel in the motor. Mike is a good tuner and Im sure he can get it squared away. He did a real good job on mine, Im waiting on some new 02's so he can finish it up.

When you said steam...Im sure your refering to the blow by and its oil smoke and not coolant steam correct...like a bad head gasket could cause, you deleted the pcv and thats what it sounds like.

yeah its kind of like a steam rather than a smoke cause it disipates rather than hangs around, and i did take the PCV saystem off. In order to fix that what would i need to do?

I seen G up there and Brett i think(aint he the one who wreaked his TA and got the silver one).

Yea, that is Brett. Had a beautiful pewter T/A, then some asshat nailed the **** out of that car. His silver one is pretty nice. I sent mike a message, but not sure if he got it.
