This is off topic, but... I've got a friend down there in Tuscon who serves in the Army guard, he's got an '02 SS. Want me to give you his contact info? He wouldn't be able to guide you with the heads/cam swap, but i know he would want to get to know other LS1 guys in the area.

If you want to haha, i was going to start the swap as soon as i could but i just realized that i need to get stronger push rods before i try to do this lol. <-- That would not be good to get a bent or broken pushrod.

Just take your time man, as long as you have a little mechanical know-how you can get it done. www.ls1howto.com has a GREAT write-up on the swap.

Yeah im doing it at the hobby shop on base. Dont envy me bud there are alot of things that im not perfect for just like anyone else, i just got lucky and found a car for a great steal and had some extra cash from the purchase.

I am pretty good with figurin out mechanical work, I used to work at dealers and such and i tinker a bit so i can figure out the process of putting everything in as long as i have all the torque specs for everything to go back on right, all the parts, and the correct tools at hand i will be good.

Im gonna need help with the tuning though, and a few extra hands in the bay wont hurt.

What about half the people from SMC? Brett or paul or any of them able to help? If I could tune, I would help. And ****, if you need help with the instal, depending on the day, I might be able to help.

If you don't mind having another person around, then sure. I'm not sure how 4 people can work on a car, but I'll hopefully be able to go so I can atleast learn what I am doing.

Its pretty straight forward to swapping the heads as long as you use the correct torque values and put everything electrical back in the proper places if you happen to move or unplug anything. Same with the cam, its just better to have an extra set of hands or peer support lol(person to drink beer with).

Ok update here i am in the process of putting on the heads and everything is straight forward as i figured but could GM have put anything else the we have to unplug, move, take off, NOT break, take off just to take something else off to get it out of the way?

I swear if they could have id be in heaven. I keep this thread posted on the results.

How much is it for a dyno run to see what kind of numbers diff. this makes?
